WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The position reports to the IT Infrastructure Architect Team Leader and is based in Cape Town. Other working relationships include all members of the IT team, all users’ worldwide and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities OVERALL PURPOSE
The overall purpose of this position is to :
Follow and recommend best practices to safeguard the integrity and security of all our IT Systems
Maintain Operating Systems, Business Applications and Technical Components up to date
Develop and optimize patching process to ensure proper outage-free implementation
Closely collaborate with IT Security to score patches based on risks and likelihood
Coordinate patch schedules with IT colleagues and key business stakeholders
Fast and thorough testing of patches in non-production environment to assess risk of outages
Develop and implement packaging of software and corrective KB from multiple vendors
Assess pre-patch risks to avoid outages and troubleshoot issues arising post-patch
Design and maintain the patching program, including technical patching and packaging procedures
Collaborate to key projects and support the IT Infrastructure and IT Security teams
Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to balance between business and patch impact
Manage work and priorities through ticketing system
Work closely with other team members to address customer requests
Create Visio documentations, write standard operation procedures and knowledge articles
Participate to out-of-business hours infrastructure maintenance and support for incidents
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1 - 3 Years of industry related experience
Microsoft MCSA or MCSE certifications highly valued
Experience with Citrix products is beneficial for the role SKILLS
English at business level
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, WSUS, Endpoint Manager and other patching tools
Good knowledge of software distribution and Group Policy Objects
Good knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange and common enterprise ecosystem
Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, NTFS permissions and RBAC
Knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop
Scripting abilities and interest for automation
Willingness to learn new technologies at a fast pace in a constantly evolving environment
Flexibility, well developed sense of organization and personal responsibility
General knowledge of Cyber Security, Networks, Firewalls and Linux and TCP / IP networking
