Purpose of the role : This role is responsible for ensuring continuity of IT services by facilitating the testing of Disaster Recovery Plans and the performance of Disaster Recovery functions.
Responsibilities : Establish the Scope of Work, Sequence of Events and logistical arrangements required to conduct DR tests in consultation with the relevant stakeholders within agreed timelines.
Coordinate actual tests, which includes the pre-test setup tasks, briefing of recovery teams, disaster declaration, managing of checkpoint meetings and post-
test Business as Usual activities Review infrastructure designs by validating the Recovery Time and data Recovery Point objectives against business requirements and alignment of recovery strategy methodology to DR Policy Standards Address root cause of issues experienced during DR tests by convening post mortem meetings with relevant stakeholders Identify opportunities to improve or enhance processes.
Recommend improvements to DR strategy and recovery methodologies Prepare and maintain yearly DR test schedule considering key IT Organisational infrastructure and application deployment dates and freeze periods Maintain the DR Policy and associated Minimum Standards -
align to best practices, ITIL and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain DR Processors and procedures that is aligned to ITIL standards and industry best practices.
Maintain the DR Steering Committee Mandate. Track and report on the status of DR Audit Internal and External issues in consultation with the relevant issue owners Compile consolidated monthly DR capability reports using application DR data available in the Planning IT application catalogue and plan status reports from Living Disaster Recovery Planning System LDRPS Conduct trend analysis of DR test issues and recommend controls to avoid reoccurrence Provide DR Consultancy services -
ensure expert specialist advice and guidance is given on addressing DR and alignment to the DR Policy Standards and best practices Manage Internal and External Auditors through a formal structured engagement process for fieldwork For more information Please apply through this site.
