Job DescriptionA company based in the Bluff seeks an experienced HR officer to join their team for a temp 2 month contract.

NON EE / AA ROLEDO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.

  • Min of 5 years' experience in HR generalist including interfacing with unionsWorking knowledge of SA labour legislationPurpose of PositionSupports the overall provision of Human Resources services, in the following areas;
  • Strategy alignment and implementation, policies and systems, culture and employee relations, manpower planning, training and development, performance management, employee wellness, compensation and benefits applicable labour legislation adherence and Global HR alignment.

    Key Performance AreasAssisting with HR Strategy and Global HR alignmentTogether with the HRM ensure efforts pertaining to HR, align to and are coordinated with Global HR strategy and practices.

    Assist in the implementation of the HR strategy.Monitor and ensure alignment of the EE Plan. Active member of EE committee and assisting to submit EE reports and plan.

    Systems and PoliciesAssist in designing policies and procedures that adhere to relevant legislation.Assist in ensuring all HR activities are captured in relevant policies, forms or systems and ensure these are kept up to date.

    Ensure that all HR systems are utilized and updated where need beCulture and Employee RelationsEnsure all efforts are aligned to Vopak values and assist HR to drive the company culture and values.

    Ensure compliance to labour legislation.Advise Management and enforce applicable legislation.Engagement with internal and external stakeholders organised labour, CCMA, Bargaining Councils, shop-

    stewards and all employees.Facilitate Disciplinary enquiries Advise management and ensure that processes and decisions are fair and consistent.

    Increase the understanding and effectiveness of leaders in delivering desired people outcomes via Human Resources policies / processes while reducing the need for Human Resources intervention.

    Keep updated knowledge of current industry trends, legislation and best practices.Performance Management and CompensationEnsure that Management and employees are trained on managing the PM system.

    Provide advice on the systemContinuous engagement with Management to ensure that PM aligns with organisational goals.Ensure that all employees have performance plans and assist where applicable in setting smart targets.

    Ensure reviews on performance are done.Advise on poor performance management.Coordination of base salaries based on market trends and budget which filters through meritorious increases.

    Manpower planningAssist in development of Talent Management and Retention Strategy.Facilitate and roll out Talent Management processes and Succession Planning.

    Sourcing and onboarding of employees at all levelsManage SLAs with recruitment agencies regarding placement fees.Manage recruitment process from inception to finalisation MOCs fornew recruits and exits.

    Job descriptions : design, analyse with Line management ,facilitate job evaluations and ensure that all employee have correct Job descriptions.

    Support Management in redesigning business units and organisational re-engineering.Training and DevelopmentEnsure Employees have individual development plans for career advancementAdvise Line management in identifying and evaluating appropriate training programs that meet company goals.

    Facilitation of skills audits.Labour RegulationsEmployee CounsellingEmployee WellnessEnsure the co-ordination with clinic and line managers relating to Employee wellness and incapacity management.

    Ensure the at risk employees have a clearly communicated process in place and assist in the management thereof.Labour RegulationsEnforcement of LRAAdvisory of BCEA,SDA,EE and OHSA.
