About the Strategic Relations TeamThe Strategic Relations department seeks to inspire resources to further African Leadership Academys mission to develop the next generation of African leaders.
Core to our efforts is a commitment to secure funding for scholarships that enable students from all socio-economic backgrounds to complete their studies at African Leadership Academy.
In addition to funding the core (scholarships), our annual fundraising objectives are guided by institutional needs which stem from our strategic plan and organizational objectives.
We are currently focused on sourcing funding that supports Networks programming, as well as growing the Anzisha Fellowship.
Over the next 3 years we will nurture diverse pathways to impact and foster a lifelong, collaborative relationship with our most important stakeholders : our alumni.
About the Development Partnerships Manager - Entrepreneurship RoleThe role will primarily be remote, with regular travel to the regions that the Manager is responsible for covering along with extended stints in Johannesburg to engage with the ALA campus community.
The role reports primarily to the Director of Development, while working closely with the Anzisha Program Executive Director to broker partnerships that grow entrepreneurship programming at ALA.
We seek an exceptional team player who can perform in a dynamic role that will elevate the teams performance and develop the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders in Africa.
ResponsibilitiesAs an extension of the Development Team, serve as the primary partnerships manager for ALAs entrepreneurship programming.
Identify and establish partnerships that will grow the Anzisha Fellowship a 3-Year Venture Building Opportunity for young entrepreneurs in Africa.
Identify and establish new relationships with supporters, partners, and employers through donor prospecting.Maintain relationships with current supporters, providing regular and personalized updates about the organization.
Public speaking, serving as representative for ALA at events and conferences. Organize local gatherings that keep supporters and partners across the world connected to our mission.
Keeping accurate and current records of partnership activity within our Salesforce and Box databases. Recommend opportunities for continuous improvement of our development, communications, and marketing departments.
Support the Director of Development in defining and implementing the teams annual Development plan which charts our fundraising strategy and approach.
