In anticipation of rigs being activated in our Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions, Ensco is recruiting externally for Mechanics.
Vacancies for these roles may not be immediate and are contingent upon rigs being reactivated. Successful candidates must be willing to work anywhere in these regions.
Job Summary Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment onboard the MODU. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Attend and participate in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings
Adhere to and follow correct lock-out, tag-out procedures
Eliminate all mechanical hazards as they are identified
Establishes effective barriers when unable to remove hazards
Ensure efficient and continual operation of all mechanical, centrifugal and auxiliary machinery and equipment including : Engines, Compressors, Hull and deck machinery, Portable water and sewage treatment systems, Drill water system, Bilge system, Fire pumps, HVAC, Centrifugal and auxiliary pumps, Drilling equipment, and Cranes
Monitors fuel transfer to / from MODU and taking on water and diesel
Execute maintenance on mechanical equipment in adherence to Ensco’s Preventative Maintenance System (PMS). Accurately document maintenance and repairs using the Ensco Asset Management System (EAMS)
Maintain proper levels of mechanical parts, spares and equipment inventories
Ensure all mechanical tools and equipment are kept in good working order and properly stored
Assist the Electricians and Welders on special projects as required
Ensure compliance with Ensco Management System (EMS) as well as applicable government regulations and rules
Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with Ensco Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
Manage and maintain appropriate logs and records in accordance with Ensco policies, regulatory and certification agencies requirements
Assist in corporate and regulatory inspections
Maintain regular communication with the OIM and Barge Engineer during all phases of major repair and maintenance projects
Conducts pre-task meetings and when a work order is required, only undertake authorized work
Three (3) or more years working as a Mechanic with prior offshore experience preferred
Education, Training, Licenses and / or Certifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Must meet all the training and certification requirements which will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations.
Specific unit requirements will be found in local job specification procedures and guidelines.

Physically capable of performing Emergency Response team Duties as per MODU Station Bill
Physically capable of performing emergency procedures including evacuations, fire drills, and other emergencies
Minimum Requirements for all Ensco positions

Able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance
Available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as determined necessary to meet business needs
PC proficiency required - competency with Microsoft Office Software suite version 2007 or greater
