Develop the knowledge that you have gained through your studies and participate in this events management internship at an NGO in Cape Town.
The NGOs focus is on urban greening, reforestation, and eco-education in Sub-Saharan Africa through tree planting, reforestation, environmental education and promoting a green movement.
It has successfully planted over 18000 trees since 2010 and uses events and great initiatives to raise funds to support this work.
The project runs a range of events from small shows in local parks to larger events such as music festivals to a three week dedicated camp focusing on reforestation.
Although the project has a strong online presence through various social media channels, emails and newsletters which it uses to communicate with donors, stakeholders and beneficiaries, the festivals and events are very important to this NGO.
The aim is to increase awareness and encourage as many people as possible to get activity involved in the Treevolution.’ The internship offers those with experience in and awareness of event management an exciting opportunity to participate in the logistics of running small and larger scale events in Cape Town.
Interns should have some experience in organising camps or events (school / scout / community events are fine) and have strong organising skills.
You should be able to use your initiative, work well under pressure and be able to meet deadlines. An interest in environmental issues would also be useful as this is the basis of the events and materials you will be promoting and organising.

A full international drivers license is also required. A full CV / resume will be requested upon application to assess your suitability for the programme.
Documentation will be required to support your application including a letter of motivation. You will be asked of a telephone interview as there is a selection process for this exciting placement.
