An experienced manager is sought for this popular Cafe & Deli situated in the surrounding area of Stellenbosch.

Duties and responsibilities :

  • This person will be responsible for the operation and supervision of the retail & food & beverage experience
  • Plan and direct day-to-day operations
  • Develop strategies to improve customer service
  • Drive retail and F&B Sales and increase profitability, create policies and programs that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base.
  • Maximize performance and profitability of all the outlets (Farm cafĂ©, Farm shop, Wines / food experience & Picnics), by maintaining the highest standards, reducing wastage and misuse of products and maximizing sales
  • Train and provide strong leadership to the team
  • Accountable for checking food labeling with food production and expiration dates, overages, and shortages of products
  • Ensure all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Accountable for ensuring the availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventories
  • Forecast staffing needs to provide optimal staffing in all areas
  • Responsible for giving directions and on the job training procedures, systems, cleanliness, and hygiene standards
  • Brief teams on upcoming events / functions / ensure orders are done accordingly and staff is rostered accordingly
  • Responsible for Hygiene
  • Take responsibility and ownership for all the concerns received from guests during service
  • Follow up and debrief all restaurant staff to determine what measures can be taken to eliminate the same issues in the future
  • Ensure weekly and monthly planning of payroll is updated and handed in on time
  • Ensure all disciplinary issues are documented appropriately and communicated to the Operations Manager & HR department.

  • Must be a SA Citizen
  • Matric
  • Hospitality, Culinary or F&B related qualification
  • Experience working in a Deli and Restaurant
  • Strong financial skills and thorough knowledge of stock control, costing, ordering and calculating selling prices
  • Have own, reliable transport
  • Work shifts when required
  • Clean work record with contactable references
