The Business Development Manager- Digital Infrastructure (BDM) will drive the regional business development, strategic account planning, and overall sales of complex solutions for both new target accounts and existing client accounts in the digital infrastructure technology sector.

In this position, the BDM will perform the lead role in the sales process as a subject matter expert and drive the identification and qualification of sales opportunities, serve as the main client contact and trusted advisor, and act as a liaison between the account managers and the pre-

sales and delivery organizations to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction. The BDM is responsible for driving the development and delivery of Proposals, Sales Presentations, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Professional Services and Managed Services quotes.

What you'll be doing

  • Attain and maintain expert knowledge of technology solutions; software defined networking and data center solutions preferred
  • Develop and execute regional business plans for Practice with the respective Regional Sale Manager and Area Vice President
  • Drive complex opportunities from inception to client approval and sign-off
  • Work with pre-sales Solution Architects to deliver Bill of Materials, Professional Services quotes, Professional Services statement of work (SOW), and Managed Services quotes
  • Develop and deliver sales proposals tailored to the specific needs of the client
  • Engages the client at a detailed level to gain a detailed understand the business issues and objectives driving the client’s project
  • Identifies the need for, and engages the appropriate vendor or partner personnel with the proper skill set to assist the solution and technology definition as required by the client’s opportunity
  • Engages the correct Dimension Data Account Management personnel and key accounts, for prospecting initiatives with new and exiting Dimension Data clients
  • Participate in regional sales meetings
  • Conduct monthly solution sales training to Dimension Data regional sales offices
  • Conduct quarterly LOB update & value proposition to key vendors & partners
  • Develop an understanding of Dimension Data market positioning, vision and solution value add
  • Accurately document the clients’ requirements using the requirement gathering tools developed by the practice

    Education / Qualifications Required

    Bachelor’s degree required with consultative selling training methodologies also preferred

    Work Experience Required

    Ten (10) years of professional experience

    Knowledge of digital infrastructure solutions, Cisco, Dell EMC, Netapp, VMware solutions preferred

    Skills and Core Competencies

    In depth knowledge of business drivers related to client needs

    In depth knowledge of the business and technical aspects of building a solution

    In depth knowledge of all types of applications and adjuncts, and the majority of popular vendor solutions

    Ability to understand and develop a requirements document that can be understood by business and technical professionals

    Must be comfortable communicating at the C level as well as the technical level

    Solid communications skills with the ability to speak in front of groups of people
