Our Blue Chip client based in Johannesburg currently holds a vacancy for an experienced Systems Support Controller. (Data Base Developer)
Salary Range from - R18 000pm depending on experience
including Provident Fund, Medical Aid.
Responsible to develop, implement, test, maintain and provide technical support of SQL database systems and related vendor products according to user / business requirements.
Review applicable IT company procedures / policies and processes and make changes or developments to the database were applicable.
Integrating systems, to customize databases to meet business needs.
Implementation and testing of upgrades and improvements to existing databases and systems.
Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information of databases and related files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure, to add and remove users, and provide user audit trails.
Participate in / run project teams to implement and develop new database and systems.
Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Electronic Ticket Machines (ETM) applications such as MySQl and bPass.
Responsible for changes to fares, shifts and route information within the Electronic Ticket Machines (ETM) application.
Respond to the Helpdesk calls logged and provide ad hoc support for various database and its application throughout the company.
Liaise with service providers, in conjunction with the Group IT Manager, were the support required exceeds the available resources.
Work as part of a project team to coordinate new database developments and systems.
SQL background and experience, able to use Crystal reports, Visual Studio, amongst others.
Minimum of Grade 12 (Std. 10) or an equivalent academic qualification,
MCSD certification combined with 4 to 6 years of database development / systems application or related experience.
Knowledge of SQL queries, relational databases and data base architecture is also required.
This position will involve a fair amount of travelling between Business Units with the Groups.
