The Senior Alumni Relations Officer will manage the alumni affairs of the business school. He / she will have planning, operations, administrative and, where appropriate, budgetary responsibilities for the WBS Alumni Affairs.
This involves responsibilityfor the planning and implementation of an alumni outreach strategy, programs and projects that strategically connect and engage alumni to WBS.
To develop, maintain and implement a data base that will build, enhance and re-engage with alumni and bring them back to the WBS and to the University
To develop a vibrant and value adding Wits Business School Alumni to engage with alumni and enhance loyalty to the WBS and to the University
To collaborate with other departments in the creation of alumni and brand loyalty
Minimum academic requirements
University graduate with Honours and post graduate qualification
5 relevant work experience
Effective management skills experience within higher education advancement related fields.
An understanding of the functioning of the university, with special reference to a Business school environment
An understanding of the difference between the academic post graduate student, the short course delegate and the senior executive delegate

Highly competent Computer literacy
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
A high level of personal motivation, initiative, energy and creativity.
Excellent public speaking and communication skills.
Excellent writing skills.
Skills to encourage and build collaborative relationships amongst academic and administrative colleagues and the WBS’s academic and executive alumni.
The capacity to participate at meetings of senior university management
Willingness to participate fully in the life of the university by attending events and programmes and by representing the institution to outside constituencies.
Ability to relate to a diverse alumni population
