One of our top clients based in Pretoria, Tshwane is seeking the services of a Business Process Engineer on a fixed-term contract
The primary role of the Business Process Engineer is to ensure that COMPANY business processes and supporting systems continue to meet business stakeholder needs, develop, implement, monitor business process improvement and automation initiatives at business unit level to improve business efficiencies and enable a continuous improvement culture within one or more COMPANY Business Units.
KPA’s OR KEY OUTPUTS
Design, develop and implement business process improvement and automation that facilitate execution of the COMPANY business transformation requirements :
Implement the company’s business strategy, using operational excellence tools to ensure the operational process efficiency goals with visible metrics.
Ensure customer and user specifications are met through adapting business processes and training practices to changing needs of the BU;
Assess BU system efficiency and make suggestions to drive out waste, improve and simplify processes, improve quality, and continually reduce the total cost of ownership.
Develop analytical tools and reports (e.g., staffing models, rate models, procurement models, inventory models, stewardship models, operations models, customer models, quality metrics, KPI’s, etc.
in order to manage end-to-end business performance.
Ensure that the necessary business process requirements are included in all functional, training and technical design documents related to assigned projects;
Employ business process methodologies and analytics into organizational operations in order to accomplish business objectives.
Analyse the impact on the existing BU environment of new business processes as well as changes or fixes prior to development taking place
Facilitate JAD sessions and ensure User Acceptance Testing (UAT) signoff of new BPM solutions.
Provide business process analysis support during software development :
Manage and provide support for the business process solutions and / or systems
Align business requirements with best practice business processes and customer relations principles and regulations around process redesign, measurement and continuous improvement within the BU;
Understand the relationship between the operational requirements of a business, corporate strategy and customer satisfaction.
Analyze, identify and align enterprise standards with new software deployments and ensure adequate support in the form of process analysis, process redesign and process documentation.
Recognize opportunities for process improvement with the assigned BU and balance the capability of the business with operational costs, market demand, efficiencies and risk.
Implement document management processes for all the BU business process specifications and solutions and common set of documentation formats to document all company business processes and assign ownership.
Identify and remove barriers to process-focused management and influence BU to focus on business results as well as customer objectives.
Ensure Operational Excellence through performance indicators, dashboards, training practices, user acceptance testing of business process, research and reporting :
Deliver on the end-to-end business excellence vision.
Identify end-to-end metrics (e.g., forecast variance, total spending, cost savings, Customer complaints, etc.) using data collection and survey reporting methods in order to measure, monitor and improve performance.
Determine BU requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality and performance.
Develop, implement and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of process redesign and continuous improvement initiatives with the BU;
Identify the potential for reuse of process components, and design for reusability.
Manage Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) and analyse data and trends to identify potential opportunities, needs, issues, and problems that could impact business results through process reengineering.
Monitor to ensure that business process documentation and maps are aligned with ISO 9001 standards and obtain signoff approval from the specific BUs
Conduct technical and analytical research as it relates to best practice both locally, nationally and internationally.
Relationship management with key stakeholders :
Liaise and build relationships with internal and external clients to ensure planning, designing, and accomplishing of key process improvement initiatives
Co-ordinate and ensure harmonious working relationships among relevant stakeholders
Ensure effective management of service level agreements
Work closely with ICT / Vendor development teams to develop BPM solutions and involve stakeholders to help implement and support process improvements and business process reengineering.
Ensure that effective methods are employed to understand customer’s business needs and ensure customer satisfaction regarding the strategic alignment as well as practical implementation of business processes.
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the industry and COMPANY business to ensure optimal business processes.
Provide regular reporting, documentation and feedback mechanisms to all stakeholders on the progress as it related to projects.
Optimize own performance within the team :
Participate as a productive team member by managing own performance in order to meet departmental objectives
Contribute to diversity management initiatives and actively build business relationships
Seek guidance and mentorship from more experienced team members where necessary
Develop, support and mentor employees within the team on an on-going basis as and when required.
