  • Preparation of tax calculations for VAT in line with the VAT Act. This shall be done for Actuals, Forecast and Plan.
  • Accounting for tax figures in the General Ledger in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, and in an accurate and complete manner.
  • Preparation VAT reconciliations on a monthly basis / quarterly basis to ensure validity and accuracy of accounting records, which enables the company to report accurately to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparation of tax returns and submission to SARS.
  • Preparation and submission of any information requested by SARS under any ad hoc request for information.
  • Review, design and implementation of internal processes and controls to facilitate compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Discharge statutory reporting obligations to SARS in accordance with the requirements of applicable tax laws. This also includes making any payments due to SARS on time.
  • Preparation and submission of any information requested by SARS under a tax audit.
  • Your profile

  • Qualification is an Honours Degree in Tax.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in VAT for short-term insurance.
  • Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy, while dealing with financial information
  • Numerate, with the ability to analyse account information
  • Honesty and integrity
