As a Sr. Systems Engineer / ApplicationsSupport Engineer in Cape Town , South Africa you can helpmake possibilities happen.
Implements, configuresand plays a role in the design of complex systems for internal and externalcustomers. Assists in performing analysis on existing systems as well as systemmaintenance.
Determines system specifications, input / output processes and workingparameters for hardware / software compatibility. Coordinates design ofsubsystems and integration of total system.
Identifies, analyzes and resolvesprogram support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions.Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructionson new projects or assignments.
TheSystems Engineer will be part of the Merchant Retail Service DeliveryOperations team, providing ongoing operational support for ACI applications
Participatesin the architecting, engineering and configuring of routine and complextechnical solutions for applications / systems implementations and upgrades basedon specific business requirements
Supportsdevelopment, QA, product and other internal teams by providing high-levelanalysis and AOD environment-based design reviews, performance, scalability andbenchmark test guidance, and subject matter expertise in technology and design
Resolvestechnical system incidents and triages with a sense of urgency and effectivelycommunicates synopses and root causes in a timely manner
Monitorsapplications, identifies potential issues and works proactively to preventanticipated incidents
Writesand maintains documentation relating to project implementations and / or newprocesses and procedures
Scriptsand develops automation for repeatable installations and configurations
Assistswith vulnerability identification and remediation
Participatesin the team on-call rotation
Performsother duties as assigned
Understandand Adhere to all Corporate Policies to include but not limited to ACI Code ofEthics and Global Information Security.
Bachelor’sdegree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
5years of technology design, architecture, infrastructure experience or relatedexperience
5years of configuring, troubleshooting, supporting and / or deploying applicationsor systems in development and production environments
Familiaritywith monitoring tools, dashboard, SQL queries.
Beable to run queries on SQL Server
Basicnetworking k knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills
Mustunderstand windows and Linux in a large production environment.
On callrole- Once a month for a week. We follow the sun model with the other team inIndia.
Abilityto prioritize, stay organized, have attention to details and strongcommunication skills
General understanding of operatingsystems (Windows / Linux), networks, web servers (Apache / Tomcat / IIS), relationaldatabases (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL) and security / encryption standards
Experience with scripting languages(BASH / Powershell), automation tools (Ansible / Jenkins / Blue Ocean / Docker) andversion control (Git)
General understanding of DevOpsprocesses and procedures
Basic understanding of ITIL concepts
Knowledge of the payments industry, PCIcompliance and / or Card Holder Data Protection standards
Experience in a cloud environment Azure or AWS.
