Business Process and Technology Manager

The opportunity :

TFG Design and Manufacturing is a division within TFG. Its core competence is providing own design on a quick response lead time and is the largest apparel supplier in the retail group’s supply chain.

In order to consistently provide relevance to the retailers, there is constant review of business process and innovation.

We are pioneering in many of our processes within South Africa. This position is required to ensure business processes are maintained, improved and innovated in order to achieve the corporate objectives.

This role is also required to strategically direct and deliver the 5 year system and technology roadmap.

TFG Design and Manufacturing is planning significant growth over the next 5 years. This role is responsible to improve process and systems to manager this growth ensuring resources are used more efficiently.

This is a senior manager role which reports into the Head of Planning & Operations. It is required to work with all levels in the organisation.

It is a new role and will require an individual that enjoys working in a constantly changing and challenging environment.

The team members supporting this role are business analysts, system administrators and industrial engineers. These resources will either be managed in the team or with consultants.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure optimal productivity across TFGA value chain by developing, overseeing and regulating work procedures
  • Develop, maintain and execute business development projects in line with business objectives
  • Development business plan to support Technology 5 Year Roadmap
  • Development of Technology Roadmap in conjunction with IT Division
  • Ensure standards and procedures are maintained
  • Facilitate resource allocation across division may be internal or external resource requirements
  • Establish measurements and targets to improve process effectiveness and efficiency
  • Define those parts of the Process Framework not defined by the Process Owner
  • Monitor the results of improvement projects and adapt / escalate where appropriate
  • Identify and evaluate key risks and recommendations on improvement plans
  • Change management of new process and policies
  • Change management of all large implementations
  • Training and system administration for all systems at HQ and factory systems include Nedgraphics, Lectra, Sync, MIS, Preactor Planning, Business Intelligence / Tableau, Quality Measurement Systems
  • Manage a small team of industrial engineers, business analysts and system administrator
  • Requirements :

  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 8 10 years’ project management experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Exposure to world class Lean methodology
