The Role :

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract for our client in Lephalale in the Limpopo Province.

We are looking for extensive working knowledge with Project Management in the Mining and Plant Production Environment.

Purpose of the role :

  • To direct and manage project development for the duration of the project phase.
  • To develop project plans and estimate the resources needed to achieve project goals.
  • To manage risk that could impact on project outcomes.

  • BEng degree
  • Diploma Project Management
  • Engineering Council of SA (PrEng or PrTech)
  • We require the following work experience :

  • Manage and ensure optimal use of budget allocated to project.Â
  • Financial authorisations based on delegated signing authority (approved by project steering committee).
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise accordingly to meet changing needs and requirements of projects.
  • Supervise and ensure the execution of projects in adherence to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA''s) and service delivery standards for all service delivery.
  • Supervise day-to-day operational aspects of a project.
  • Controls to ensure legal compliance within designated area.Â
  • Application of controls to ensure legal and best practice compliance in accordance with the MHSA (Mine Health and Safety Act), MPRDA (Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act), OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) where applicable.Â
  • Ensure document control via centralised capturing system specified.
  • Ensure maintain a healthy environment, safe operations practices. Â esponsible for own safety for the clients. Â Â
  • Compliance to all applicable SHE policies procedures in line with set standards. Report defects incidents.  Â
  • Provide inputs for the planning and recommendations for staff to be efficiently deployed and identification of areas of further development (projects and training). Â
  • Execute responsibilities in a manner that is in accordance to guidelines and standards associated with quality service delivery of project management services and consultation provided by the incumbent, in a manner that is aligned to the services framework and consistent with customer agreements.Â
  • Skills and Experience :

    Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Identify resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Where required, negotiate with functional heads for the acquisition of required human resources for cross-functional expert consultation within the company and externally.
  • Take action to mitigate and manage risks that can impact on the project.
  • Effective use of engineering standards, principles and practice for the discipline for the planning, design and implementation of engineering outcomes to support the business unit or specific projects.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Implementation of effective SHE management systems for project. Â
  • Provide and participate in governance systems for best practice. Â
  • Adhere to the requirements of quality management systems. Â
  • Ensure compliance to environmental Record of Decision (RoD).
  • Adhere to Project Management Standards. Â
  • Identify service performance improvement opportunities associated with area of responsibility.Â
  • Contribute to gathering of customer feedback as required by Group Manager, Service Management to ensure that customers within the business are satisfied with the delivery of project management services.
  • Update knowledge of project management best practice.Â
  • Participate in the evaluation of discipline-specific standards, principles and practice to enable planning, design and implementation of project outcomes that support the business strategy.   Â
  • Participate in the implementation of appropriate quality management systems to ensure delivery of high quality projects.  Â
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an appropriate approach to knowledge management for the discipline in line with business needs.
