Sales Representative based in Cape Town. Key Responsibilities & Duties Generate leads and meet sales goals, both directed by monthly & annual targets, in co-ordination with the marketing team.
Visit current and potential customers to evaluate needs and promote products and services. Work to create efficiencies and prioritize valuable clients.
Critical to this role is the ability to access the customer’s problems / needs in order to see where a product or solution can fit in to their business.
Increase product basket to current customers. Co-ordinate sales efforts with marketing plans to deliver key brand initiatives, including attending key events during the year, where required (one per quarter or four annually).
Participate or feed into marketing led workshops (online where possible) to generate ideas for product, brand and sales growth.
Prepare and report on territory plans and weekly / monthly reports (online where possible). Maintain customer relationships relating to their questions, inform them of pricing, availability, product information and payment terms, through professional communication.
Ensure all product and business knowledge is up-to date by attending sales training sessions. Oversee activities and performance of respective customers by tracking sales goals and facilitate the ongoing product training of customers.
Negotiate terms with prospective customers, based on mandate given by the sales manager. Give regular product training with retailer floor staff.
Monitor and merchandise stock at retailers and ensure top up orders are processed. Ensure all orders are received in good order and correctly merchandised.
Feed competitor activity and market intel to the business on a regular basis (monthly) : price, promotion, pack / product, place etc.
Manage respective customer payments and debtors. Key Competencies & requirements Understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Diploma or Bachelors’ degree in business, marketing, economics, related field OR proven experience and track record in a sales role.
A commitment to customer service excellence. Represent the brands and uphold their core values. Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.
