  • more food to more people, more often!The RCL FOODS Talent Team is currently looking for a passionate Key Account Representative with impressive communication, interpersonal & problem-solving abilities to support the Customer Executive in the development of new business opportunities across categories such as Sugar, Milling, Spreads, Creams, Breading, and Plant-based raw material.

    A strong sense of curiosity, a passion for developing new business, and an ability to take plans from strategy through to flawless execution will favour candidates.

    The role will be based in Johannesburg or Pretoria West and report directly to the National Account Manager.Minimum RequirementsCompleted a relevant Tertiary Qualification.

    At least 3 years of Sales or Marketing experience in a customer-facing environment, specifically within the FMCG food manufacturing environment.

    Proven ability to establish positive working relationships with key customers. Business-to-Business experience will be an advantage.

    Solid background in analysis and insight generation. Valid Driver’s License & own vehicle.Duties & ResponsibilitiesNew Customer DevelopmentCollaborate with Customer Marketing and the sales team to identify market opportunities and customer development pipeline.

    Analyse internal and external data to identify and size new opportunities.Maintain pipeline tracker and report on progress vs targetsDevelop tailored solutions for new customer approaches.

    Identify unmet product needs in market for consideration for innovation.Manage NPD launches from factory to store in accordance with the launch plan.

    Build relationships and work closely with BU Technical support and BU Supply Chain specialists.Develop proposals, negotiate terms and conditions and implement contractual agreements with assigned national accounts accountability for delivering strong financial results.

    Build and share knowledge of new business development skills, tools and approaches.Develop and maintain product knowledge of the Milling industry and RCL Foods products in particular.

    Act as an active ambassador of RCL Foods at the customer and of the customer at RCL Foods. Account ManagementDevelop account strategies in accordance with the overall channel strategy.

    Conduct regular reviews of business performance.Manage and develop strong day-to-day relationships with the Industrial key account managers and NAM’s.

    Seek out and propose new product innovation, new channels and new business.Forecast demand and feed that into the S&OP process.

    Monitor market trends, competitive activities and new products.Continuously review and monitor pricing to ensure RCL Foods remains competitive with the highest profitability possible.

    Report meeting results and follow up with all cross-functional groups to capitalise on sales opportunities.Ensure that customer demands in terms of food safety, sustainability and quality issues are met.

    Attend sales meetings as required.Be an internal account champion, assuring clear and regular communication to key company managers and coordinating finance, commercial, demand and supply planning, marketing and new product development for the account.

    Account Financial ManagementDrive the achievement of the key account sales budgets in terms of volume.Oversee the processing of all claims.

    Forecast, budget and track account revenues and cost. Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly sales margins and goals.Provide monthly feedback to the Channel Executive indicating the progress on volume vs budget.
