Job purpose

Working in a digital agency as a studio manager you must have a passion for digital technologies. You have a creative flair, relish working in a fast-paced environment and you are able to manage multiple project deliverables.

  • You act acts as the link between client service teams and the strategy and creative departments. You are responsible for actively managing critical timelines, and coordinating internal operations, teams;
  • and monitoring and directing the movement of all jobs through the creative development process; updating schedules and keeping all parties updated on the process.

    In this role, you must have the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines whilst managing quality control.

    You have the ability to foresee scheduling conflicts and take quick action when schedules get compressed or delayed.

    Your end goal is to make sure the project goes smoothly and both the client who requested the project and the professionals who delivered the work are satisfied with the end result.

    Job objectives

    Strategic / analytics

  • Implement best practices for performing tasks and operational processes
  • Ensure that creative outputs are achieved within a set budget and time frame to eliminate the risk of overtime / non-billable hours
  • Ensure overall profitability targets are achieved without compromising quality
  • Consultancy (internal / external)

  • Provide guidance on company processes, procedures, and systems and ensure all employees remain relevant on changes / updates
  • Build strong, positive, constructive and lasting relationships with teams, suppliers, and freelancers
  • Where necessary, provide support to the Client Service and Creative teams
  • Attend project kickoffs, internal reviews and brainstorming sessions as necessary, and is prepared to contribute with any requested input, samples, etc.
  • Encourage collaboration and cohesion within the team to drive efficiencies
  • Implement direct and clear communication channels to all team members and freelancers
  • Oversee and manage all outputs of Creatives and Freelancers to ensure that they are aligned to client requirements and within the set budget and timeframes
  • Delivery

  • Work with project management to scope work, define timelines, secure creative resources, monitoring workflow and constraints, to ensure that all project details can be clearly communicated to the client and meet their expectation
  • Create detailed schedules and set deadlines for various stages of a project
  • Distribute assignments to creative teams and other departments, depending on their availability and priorities
  • Monitor projects and workloads, adjusting assignments and deadlines accordingly
  • Oversee the campaigns and / or projects on a regular basis in order to inform the client consulting teams about the progress, and ensure that all deliverables are on
  • track to meet a client deadline
  • Proactively flag issues and potential set-backs with internal teams before they become problematic
  • Communicate and schedule urgent requests in such a way that process does not obstruct the orderly flow of everyday work
  • Assess and plan for the need to source external freelancers and suppliers to assist with the workload
  • Work with production and studio to ensure creative files are built correctly for distribution (Manage the organization of the electronic file structure for client creative and production work)
  • Work closely with freelancers and contractors to ensure they have the resources needed to complete their tasks
  • Qualification(s)

  • Project Management qualification at NQF 6 or Equivalent experience (essential)
  • Bachelor's degree (desirable)
  • Knowledge

    Operational knowledge

  • An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a digital marketing environment
  • Knowledge of effective methods to derive and interpret client objectives.
  • Understanding of digital marketing and success factors
  • Understanding of the relationships between social media platforms and publishers
  • Understanding of Business Development strategy and operational best practices
  • Understanding of basic financial management and budgeting principles

  • Five+ years of experience within the Studio (Traffic) Management environment ( essential )

  • Three+ years of experience managing external suppliers and collaborator relationships ( essential )
  • Three+ years of experience with overseeing internal teams processes ( essential )
  • Technical

  • Intermediate level of experience working with Project Management tools (Chase) ( essential )
  • Basic level of experience working on MS 365 and MS Teams
  • Intermediate level of experience using various digital and social platforms (e.g. Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, etc.)
  • Industry-specific

  • Two+ years of experience in the social media and digital environment ( essential )
