Want to be a part of our team?The primary responsibility of the DevOps Director is to lead the DevOps department to achieve strategic objectives and to oversee all activities of the teams.
He / she will oversee the day-to-day activities and support the business’s site / software / applications platforms that service the entire business, working closely with the managers reporting to him / her and providing feedback to senior leadership.
Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware / software and database management.
Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company’s data, tools and information systems. Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.
Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics. Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Working at NTT Key Roles and Responsibilities : Provide technical guidance and leadership to DevOps projects that are being executed.
Leading cross-functional teams and play a leading role in software / platform / application architectural evolution. Work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders to ensure the execution of the DevOps strategy.
Promotes, documents, and implements systems infrastructure best practices, building tools that allow the department to develop and deploy impeccable sites / software.
Advises on the creation of tools that leverage productivity amplifiers such as code generators and schema repositories for scalable deployment.
Manages individuals and groups and allocates responsibilities and / or packages of work, including supervisory responsibilities.
Plays a mentorship role to key DevOps employees, constantly promoting improvement in their professional skills. Design and build infrastructure for sites / software, ensuring the highest levels of security and responding swiftly to any new and emerging vulnerabilities and security threats.
Recommends tools and automated workflow capabilities in order to enable the business’s software engineering teams to test and promote code.
Builds, configures, and maintains the frameworks, tools, and systems that enable optimal performance of the business’s sites / software.
Leads the design and implementation of real-time monitoring systems of these sites / software. Is responsible for the development of standards and processes for operations that proactively prevent problems from occurring.
Collaborates with the quality assurance department in creating solution designs, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes : Demonstrates technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions Possesses expert technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), monitoring and management tools, and deployment processes and tools Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, and project management Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills Experience working with quality management approaches, techniques, and principles Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices Deep technical understanding of development and platform engineering Customer centricity and strong collaboration capabilities Highly focused on outcomes Highly organized and planned individual Strategic ability to define technical direction in the portfolio of products including technical strategies and plans and execution plans Strong stakeholder and relationship management Excellent communication skills coupled with exceptional leadership skills Demonstrate a superior and practical understanding of accepted DevOps principles Academic Qualifications and Certifications : Typically requires extensive related experience with a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree Relevant certifications beneficial Relevant DevOps certifications will be beneficial Agile related certifications preferable Required Experience : Minimum of 10 12 years of team management experience Substantial working experience in a DevOps capacity, working within a fast-paced and fast-evolving environment Vast and successful experience leading a DevOps team Demonstrated experience in enterprise network technologies Significant experience in service management practices and processes within a continuous delivery environment Demonstrate vast experience writing code and have experience in the automation, configuration, and application performance management tools What will make you a good fit for the role?
