Salary : R 23 000 R25 000 (based on experience)

We are looking for an Assistant Portfolio Manager to join our Mentor portfolio team , working alongside passionate small businesses and experienced small business mentors.

The Mentor Portfolio aims to connect thriving small business owners to experience and passionate business professionals, with the aim of accelerating personal and business growth through coaching, engagement , mentorship and facilitating access to opportunities.

The Assistant Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the implementation of portfolio operations, drive efficiencies through innovative solutions to support mentors and programme participants.

The ideal candidate : Is an organized, high energy individual, comfortable with technology and is a fast learner. The candidate will be experienced in successfully managing tasks efficiently and will be expected to take the lead in delivery portfolios objectives.

Individuals should have a good understanding of business, an interest in small business development, proven analytical capabilities and a passion for problem solving.

    Role overview :

  • Work closely with the Manger to Implement Mentor portfolio strategy
  • Ensure mentor portfolio operations are aligned with other portfolios and programmes
  • Successful execution of portfolio KPIs through task management
  • Management and Facilitation of mentor networking sessions
  • Manage portfolio tools, templates and processes to ensure efficiencies
  • Manage and ensure smooth functioning of the mentor / mentee reporting tool
  • Identify, recruit, contract and induct all service providers small business mentors / consultants
  • Planning and implementation of the mentor KPI performance process
  • Plan, implement and report on Mentor development sessions
  • Drive engagement of mentors and manage any communications related to the portfolio
  • Job Requirements

  • University degree or higher in Business Management, Project Management, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or related
  • 3-4 + years of working experience in similar role
  • Working experience in Small business / Enterprise development / Business Incubation space essential
  • Strong Excel, Data Analysis and report writing capabilities essential
  • Excellent spoken, written and interpersonal communication
  • Experience and comfort with MS Suite - Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Confident, agile, ambitious, forward-thinking and comfort with technology and innovation
  • Entrepreneurial / own business experience (advantageous)
  • Multilingual more than one African language - (advantageous)
