Midrand - A leading pharmaceutical company has a position for a Marketing Head (Specialty & Hospital implement the marketing plan strategies aimed at achieving sales and profit objectives by product.

Overall Objective : To ensure the development of relevant and clearly defined marketing plans and strategies for an assigned focus area Recognised as the expert with an excellent understanding of : Clinical and non-clinical customers and their short- and long-term requirements, The competitive, regulatory, compliance and funding environments Overall marketplace challenges Works closely with the Marketing and Sales Managers to define analytically based investment proposals for presentation to Management and Business Unit Leaders.

Identifies market expansion opportunities, efficiency improvements, best practices and product development activities such as local market research Leads preparation of annual local marketing plans, including detailed market access plans for new product launches, market appropriate product launches, life cycle and portfolio management and pricing strategies.

Leadership and Characteristics : Effectively drives collaboration & compliance through the business, by partnering with the Marketing and Sales Managers Strategic capabilities in sharing functional expertise to enhance partnerships across the business to drive the achievement of strategic and tactical goals across the business Develops a strong Marketing / Business Support team, continuously coaching to improve business capabilities and competency of the team.

Collaborates with the management team to establish the correct goals for the company, identify appropriate metrics to help achieve them as well as effective correction plans when necessary to achieve goals.

Demonstrates flexibility, must be equally prepared to challenge the status quo and to respond appropriately when challenged on the key business issues A leader whose personal and professional behaviour is aligned to The Company values.

Business Results Key contributor to the South Africa Business planning process by defining (product) growth targets and activities to drive growth and expand the market Develops marketing plans to ensure product pull through and mix evolution from available and new procedures Leads the co-ordination of local pre-launch, launch, post-launch activities for new products (including market appropriate products) and services for a focus area.

Collaborates Sales, SFE, Commercial, and Regulatory to ensure the successful implementation of the launch. Drives the professional education strategy for area of responsibility Monitors and circulates product volume forecasts for new products recently launched.

Drives pricing strategy to ensure both revenue and profit objectives are met. Important to manage inventory demands and objectives across the portfolio Ensures selling skills meet the agreed standard to deliver the required outcomes by working with the Regional Sales Managers to design appropriate training Acquires Market Intelligence by working with Regional Sales Managers to define requirements.

Actively participates with the Business Intelligence team to implement findings into tactical solutions. Ensures compliance to the local regulatory framework and follows up with Sales to understand effectiveness on procedure adoption and product sales.

Actively contributes to the development and implementation of marketing material Accountable for relevant issues on quality, product recalls, limited releases, back order, etc Requirments : Project management experience in leading several complex projects to conclusion Strategic thinker with marketing skills and experience Experience in leading multi-functional teams without direct line authority, successfully delivering objectives to time and within budget Adept at problem solving supported by analytical abilities to make fact-based conclusions about the impact of market dynamics, customers and competitors on marketing plans Effective communicator with experience in presenting complex marketing, clinical and non- clinical issues to Senior Management and Stakeholders Experience in working with and presenting marketing and product issues Understands reimbursement and funding policy implications on sales growth and procedure adoption A self-starter who is agile at making things happen through managing relationships and networks effectively, both internally and with key external stakeholders earning their trust and respect Demonstrates The Company leadership principles in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders Bachelor’ Degree or Equivalent 6 8 Years Sales & Marketing experience in a Pharmaceutical related field.

Experience in Managing a Marketing Team Proficiency in MS Office Experience in successfully delivering objectives on time and within budget Adept at problem solving supported by analytical abilities to make fact-based conclusions about the impact of market dynamics, customers and competitors on marketing / selling plans Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment, relevant procedures, and funding issues Understands reimbursement and funding policy implications on sales growth and procedure adoption Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills
