Job Description :

Our client is a global, technology-driven supplier of high-quality products and services to the mining, mineral beneficiation and power generation industries, which caters for diverse requirements of most mineral beneficiation needs, with emphasis on maintaining close customer relationships and partnerships to ensure optimum solutions.

Based in Johannesburg, with branches nationwide as well as further afield in Africa and Internationally, the Group has several comprehensively-

equipped manufacturing facilities which produce specific product lines.

They are currently sourcing 2 Sales Engineers for their Rubber division to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and / or market segment by using specialised knowledge of the relevant technology to give customers the required information on operations and maintenance.

Successful incumbents will have Grade 12, a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Metallurgical) and a Sales / Marketing Diploma will be an added advantage.

At least 3 years’ relevant sales experience in a mining environment is required and Rubber Mill Lining experience will be an added advantage.

Position details :

Primary purpose : Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and / or market segment by using specialised knowledge of the relevant technology to give customers the required

information on operations and maintenance. Responsible for meeting a specific sales budget or target.

Job function :

  • 90% of existing business is retained, market share is increased by obtaining new business, monthly and annual sales budget is met.
  • Products and services are delivered to customer as per SLA and customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • All client requests are responded to within 24 hours and at least 20 client visits per month take place.
  • Wear audits / screen surveys are completed when required.
  • Stock take as and when required.
  • Customer information is captured on ARC / Hawkeye as it is received after each visit, weekly call plans are submitted to Manager and call reports are prepared by due date.
  • All expenditures are reconciled by due date.
  • Quotations are completed as and when required, sign off quotes within limit of authority and quotation feedback after each visit is provided.
  • Three monthly order forecast updated monthly.
  • Attendance and participation at exhibitions as discussed with Manager.
  • Market research is conducted in designated areas.
  • Presentations are delivered to customer as required, opportunities are supported with point of sale material and quarterly presentation to management of market research and marketing activities in own area is done.
