JOB SUMMARY (Responsibilities)

  • Partner the category on the strategic planning process
  • Identify value opportunities that require an intervention / project support from Finance Business Partner resources
  • Undertake major performance interventions if needed
  • Support the FET to influence at the key decision gates of innovation business cases
  • Drive post-launch interventions
  • Partner with Categories to complete active portfolio reviews
  • Review impacts of performance interventions
  • Identify major risks and opportunities
  • Develop corrective actions to close gaps to targets where Category intervention is required in in-year performance (by exception only)
  • Periodically, Senior FBPs (and other FLT as required) would review projects in process and upcoming challenges and issue a work plan for FBP resourcing.
  • Finance Business Partners would then be allocated as appropriate and could be performing, but not limited to, some of the activities below :

  • Working as part of a team on cross-functional performance interventions
  • Drive development of large Innovation Business Cases
  • Business Model development and development of external insights into customers and competitors
  • Strategic planning and alignment between Customer and Category
  • Building and sharing best practices and learnings
  • Support new brand innovation launches
  • Big Cell performance interventions
  • Strategic pricing & pricing mix optimisation
  • Portfolio change
  • Detailed competitor studies
  • Business model improvement plans (e.g. gross margin, cash)
  • Sustainability KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant Commercial Degree, i.e. Finance, Accounting, etc
  • Minimum of 3 years solid Finance Business Partnering and Category / Customer experience
  • Extensive experience managing a large and complex set of stakeholders
  • Ability to work with cross-functional / virtual teams, work fluidly with data and across systems
  • Commercial / business acumen
  • Strong engagement, presentation, communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, Excel modelling skills and attention to detail (accounting and reporting accuracy)
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to quickly understand new topics
  • Ability to work fluidly with data and across systems
  • Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner and clearly explain Finance concepts to non-Finance stakeholders
  • Experience with the identification of risks and opportunities in the P&L
  • Experience in driving P&L performance improvements (e.g. closing gaps vs. target) and holding others accountable (particularly peers and senior leadership)
