The Impact You’ll be Making

Microsoft Technical Specialist Managers build, develop and lead teams of Technical Specialists to identify and win over the technical decision maker in the Business and IT department of our Enterprise Customers - with the TSM focusing on Modern Work and Security products & services.

You and your team will drive technical decisions at the customer that helps them achieve Business value with the Microsoft Platform, and thereby secure long-term sustainable growth for Microsoft.

As a Technical Specialist Manager, you will be a key leader to helping customers embrace and succeed through digital transformation.


Key Capabilities Required for primary accountabilities

  • Scale Customer Engagements : Skilled in proactively engages customer technical decision makers; coaches team to remove blockers, anticipates and identifies blocker patterns;
  • streamlines processes with deep knowledge of processes, tools and programs and aligns goals across solution areas and workloads;
  • orchestrates cross-organizational resources and implements cross-functional initiatives to different channels across a subsidiary

  • Scale Through Partners : Skilled in coaching team to grow partner network; identifying gaps and promoting Microsoft with partners;
  • monitoring and analyzing partnerships; identifying new partnership opportunities for subsidiary strategy

  • Build Strategy : Skilled in enabling team to share across internal teams and communities and during architecture and capability discussions;
  • proactively approaching customers; maintaining communications with internal partners on highest potential customers to flexibly pre-align technical resources;
  • working with local marketing teams

  • Solution Design & Proof : Skilled in coaching team on demonstrations of solutions; promoting adaptation and extension of architecture patterns and envisioning of new solutions that use Microsoft technology to meet customer needs;
  • coordinating with stakeholders in solution development; identifying trends and ideas that can be transformed into solutions that benefit customers / partner.

  • Education : Skilled in increasing technical knowledge while acting as a respected technology leader; sharing best practices and content for Microsoft events;
  • driving feedback into tech communities.

    Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Attracts, develops and retains talent : Skilled in building development plans and conducting discussions that support direct reports career interests and promoting mentorship, workforce development and succession planning;
  • motivating team to grow by building tech leadership attributes of senior Individual Contributor team members; driving clarity on needed skills, behaviors and abilities by articulating team needs and building a diverse, high performing team and identifying ideal candidates within broader network

  • Delivers results through teamwork Skilled in driving a growth mindset and learning-focused culture by empowering team to focus on learning and helping the organization to establish culture;
  • acting as a role model and embracing the learning-focused culture by investing time in self-learning and practice; serving as a credible technology thought leader for customers, partners, Microsoft leaders, and team.

  • Qualifications

    Required / Minimum Qualifications

  • Min 8- 10+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experienceOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experienceOR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experienceOR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and / or technology management.

    Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of People Management experience (including leading virtual teams).
  • Experience solution-selling to manufacturing customers
  • Experience selling data visualization platforms
