SA Premix is a leading manufacturer of premixes for the Southern African Animal Feed Market. Our core business is to apply our expertise for the manufacturing of nutritional additives for the agricultural and veterinarian market. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Resource management.
  • Inventory management.
  • Cost controls.
  • Service provider management.
  • Maintains instructed stock levels of inventory items and recommends to management when previously established stock holding levels need to be amended.
  • Ensure that all stock takes take place and all cycle counts are done for all materials and finished products on a quarterly basis and when required.
  • Ensures that stocks are stored and moved on FIFO basis.
  • Ensures the safe and timeous delivery of products to customers and provides to customers and provides a quality service to all times.
  • Ensures that SABS ISO 9001 : 2008 procedures of Materials management section are maintained at all times.
  • Ensures that all product handling and storage in main, Rebate, Flammable and Temperature Controlled Stores is carried out according to all legal and company safety
  • requirements.

  • Submits monthly reports as specified and required from time to time and ensures that safety documentation is up-dated continuously.
  • Resolves, addresses or escalates any problems, requests, queries of sub-ordinates whilst adhering to Group Policies and Procedures and ensuring absolute
  • customer satisfaction.

  • Is responsible for training and motivation of sub-ordinates and suggesting further training where he / she sees a need.
  • Ensures that all Materials Handling equipment is fully maintained at all times and operated safely as per company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritizes and optimizes distribution of all inventory items specifically when 3rd party vehicles are involved.
  • Timeous co-operation and liaison with Transport Planner(s), Sales Desk, Customer Care, Production and Technical Department will be required to meet the above.
  • Operate the warehouses within the agreed budget requirements and notify the supply chain manager of any deviations as result of high costs.
  • Evaluates requests for emergency action and decides on suitable sources of action from within his section, ensuring costs are kept low while customer satisfaction
  • remains priority.

  • Control the efforts of all FLT drivers to ensure safe use, handling and storage of pallets.
  • Responsible for local purchases of non-inventory consumable store items i.e. bottles, tins, diesel, etc. (25 Purchase orders per annum).
  • Leading sales and operations and other weekly, monthly and annual team meetings to drive organizational objectives. Qualifications & Experience
  • Matric and an appropriate tertiary qualification or NQF equivalent would be beneficial.
  • Minimum of 1 5 years of operational warehouse experience of which at least 3 years as manager.
  • The applicant should have an in depth understanding of warehouse operations (including MHE’s), transportation, safety requirements and resource management.
  • Previous exposure to handling hazardous chemicals and perishable goods would be beneficial.
  • Computer literacy essential (must be proficient in Syspro and WMS software, MS Excel, MS Word and MS PPT).
  • IR skills and experience.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 : 2000 and ISO 14000 procedures / standards.
  • Forklift driver certificate.
  • Familiarity with general vehicle maintenance. Competencies
