Background Information :

The Corporate sector holdsa number of opportunities for Pearson in Africa, especially with the recent focus on employability and the launch of Pearson Professional.

This is one of the important initiatives that is a pillar for our 5-year strategy.

Past years have seen an encouraging start in exploring the corporate sector with vocational, assessment, and short courses.

Key Accountabilities :

Own the Africa target for corporate sector sales and hit or exceed its yearly sales forecast

Build and maintain a 3 years strategic and operational plan for corporates in Africa covering market, competition, segments, products and go to market.

Gain high level understanding of Governments priorities and initiatives for employability in Africa and the impact on corporates

Develop industry network for Pearson in the region (Key employers, HR Managers. etc).

Develop and maintain long term relationships with key industry stakeholders.

Provide crucial input to product owners on the demand side dynamics impacting such programs in the region and support the solution team in building the Corporate ecosystem

Effectively manage sales teams ensuring report and track Corporate sales by account and by product and full usage of CRM tool, data coverage and mapping of key contacts, companies and products for all accounts

Skills & Competencies :

A natural salesperson.A rational, assertive and confident individual who can persuade customers and articulate business needs to management

Excellent people management and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical skills, including historical sales analysis, pricing, and forecasting.

Strategic thinking, with the ability to develop innovative multi-level strategies to build medium-long term business pipelines

Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation and influencing skills plus an ability to operate in a matrix-reporting environment.

Able to operate effectively alone, and to work through challenges independently, as well as part of a multi-country team

Able to work as part of a cross-functional matrix structure, in a global environment

Excellent spoken and written command of English

Experience in using SalesForce is a plus

Experience and Qualifications

Degree or higher educational background in education / business

Minimum 5 years of results-led sales and marketing experience at managerial level, preferably working in an educational environment (HR & LD)

Proven record of successful sales and marketing strategy implementation

Experience working with a complex global organisation environment
