The Role :

The Key Account Manager West, East and Central Africa is responsible for developing channel, (r)etail & enterprise business WECA, mainly focusing on Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania.

You will based in Lagos, Nairobi or Johannesberg and travel to the countries when needed to build strong relationships with our partners in the markets.

Working together with marketing, you build strong mid and long term strategies and annual / quarterly plans for our brands and execute the same.

You will have full P&L responsibility to drive a profitable long term business model.

In this role you will :

  • Strategic planning, Operational implementation and Management buy in to ensure we achieve and maintain strong market leadership
  • Create a Distribution network which is robust and helps geographic and account reach
  • Work together with the South Africa team in Johannesburg and the category teams in our HQ in Lausanne, Switzerland.
  • Build strong account plans to (over)achieve the set targets.
  • Increase our in house shares.
  • Create (with marketing) a strong brand presence instore and online.
  • Make sure that you work closely with the distribution partners to ensure that there is no out of stock situation for consumers.
  • You plan your business, products, investments and new product introductions.
  • Key Qualifications :

    For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team :

  • You have at least 8-10 years experience in distribution and in retail (working for a brand or for a retailer) in WECA and have a strong network in the priority countries.
  • Familiar with IT / CE / Telecom distribution and retailing in WECA
  • Analytical skills, you are eager to analyze the sales out and stock reports and come with clear actions
  • Financial understanding, understanding ROI calculation, margin impacts of your actions.
  • Planning, we sell what we plan based on facts and plans.
  • Understanding of online retailing and the shopper journey.
  • Native English speaker. One local language will be nice to have.
  • Education :

  • Bachelors degree ideally in management, engineering or economics. Masters and MBA preferred.
