Our client, a dynamic Financial Services Company, is seeking to employ a Senior Fund Accountant based in Johannesburg North

Candidates must have a B Com Degree or Relevant Accounting Diploma / qualification with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Fund Accounting or Senior Fund Accountant role in the Employee Benefits

  • Ability to compile electronic working papers as per the Company's style guides
  • 1. Monthly

  • Monthly management of workflow and deadlines / turnaround times of own portfolio and that of other teams
  • Checking of monthly management accounts of team members
  • Managing own deadlines and those of team members
  • Report to Fund Accounting Manager monthly on status of management accounts and audits of self and team members
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly ALM's on all funds
  • Calculate monthly PAYE and complete PAYE Returns
  • Manage and prepare SARM reports and Regulation 28 Reports
  • Follow up on deadlines and checking of SARB and Regulation 28 reports of team members
  • Monthly management of turnaround times of own portfolio and team members allocated
  • Resolve actuarial and audit queries and assist team members with queries
  • Update Annual Financial Statements with valuation and audit adjustments
  • Timeous payment of fund invoices
  • 2. Annual Financial Statements

  • Prepare audit files with Annual Financial Statements up to and including Schedule 1A and Schedule 1B within the SLA deadlines
  • Meet audit deadlines and manage dedlines of team members
  • Annual planners to be done for self and team members
  • Annual Planner to be adhered to at all times
  • Effective resolution of queries (audit, actuarial and Trustee) within the stipulated turnaround times
  • Provide training to team members as and when required
  • Review of audit files within timelines.
  • 3. Controlling Costs

  • Telephone and internet cots
  • Avoid audit overruns
  • 4. Soft Skils

  • Courtesy with clients (internal and external)
  • Tidiness - desk audits
  • Filing must be done monthly and filed according to the Company's Style Guide
