Our client (Century City) is an entertainment company, currently developing THE premier mobile content platform for Africa.

Their mission? To deliver entertaining and informative content through interactive digital experiences. Their first product is a live-

streamed mobile trivia game that has already taken the US market by storm. Players will answer trivia questions and earn big rewards.

Our client has a well-funded and international founding team that has extensive experience scaling businesses across Africa and globally.

There are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer.

Job description

For this role, we're looking for a seasoned DevOps engineer who has the ability to architect and maintain dynamic systems which can automate development and handle millions of daily active users.

Optimize AWS cloud deployment for improved performance, security, and cost management

Deploy automation tools (CI / CD) to facilitate the development and deployment of Android builds

Building and maintaining development, staging, and production environments

Set up and execute progressive load tests simulating massive scale involving web sockets

Design procedures for system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance (esp. with live games)

Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience

Secure, store and tightly control access to tokens, passwords, certificates, encryption keys

Requirements

BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

Work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role

4+ years working in the AWS environment, with experience in services like EC2 / ELB, Route53, S3

Experience working with and optimizing web sockets with significant loads

Strong knowledge of database architecture (MySQL) and caching technologies (MemCached, Redis)

Working knowledge of PHP, Java, NodeJS, or similar coding languages

Experience with technologies such as RabbitMQ, Jenkins, Jira, Chef, and Hashicorp

Serverless experience (AWS lambda) advantageous

Experience with deploying games and / or media streaming advantageous
