About the roleThis role supports the financial accounting function working directly and indirectly with all levels of Orica employees and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and Oricas financial controls and standards.
What you will be doingMonth End Processes & ProceduresPerform allocated month end processes and procedures in a timely and accurate mannerRecording, analysis and review of data in system related to general ledgers and trial balances, in support of business and functional requests, validation of transactions processed and substantiation of reconciling items (Manual Journal Entries, Intercompany & Fixed Assets)Prepare & Review Balance Sheet Reconciliations and perform Balance Sheet Maintenance (clearing and monitoring of open items)Ensure journals and reconciliations for general ledger accounts including substantiation of reconciling items, reviewed by GBS and approved by the businessComply with accounting standards and Orica accounting policiesDeliver timely and accurate financial information in support of business and functional requestsAssist the business monitor and action key reconciliations such as AP, AR, GRIR and AUC.
Execute tasks in accordance with applicable Service Level agreementsAsset management (assist with documentation for recharges, disposals and maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers) Financial & Management Reporting Assist with preparation of business unit financial statements - business unit B / S, P&L, Cash Flow and consolidation of financial statements.
Assist with preparation of trial balance and issue other nominated financial and management reports 9.3.2.8 Audit & Balance Sheet Review 9Assist with preparation of half-yearly audit packs, ensuring they are complete, accurate and issued within agreed timeframeParticipate in internal and external audit as requiredAssist with the preparation of the Balance Sheet Review template as requiredAssist with preparation of Statutory returns (Indirect Taxes) with compliance to deadlines / timetablesLiaison with Tax Manager, experts and professional consultants where required in relation to statutory requirements and tax audits, including document extraction and collationParticipate in internal and external audit as required Administration and ComplianceCompliance with relevant Orica standards, Segregation of Duties and Oricas financial authority limits.
