About Our School
Chalo School is situated 9 kilometers from the town of Fort Nelson, on the Fort Nelson First Nation Reserve. We serve a student population of approximately 120 students from K4 to grade twelve.
We are an independent school and follow the prescribed curriculum of the BC Ministry of Education. Traditional language and culture are also important components of our school’s curriculum.
Our beautiful and well-appointed school offers quality of place’ through exceptionally well- maintained physical infrastructure, small class sizes (18 pupils max.
and a team of sixteen teaching professionals and ten education assistants. Our work at Chalo School is guided by the Fort Nelson First Nation’s vision for a Strong, Healthy, Proud, and Self-Reliant community.

Qualifications
Successful applicants will possess the appropriate education, training and experience.
And,
Successful classroom teaching experience (this includes practicumexperience). Knowledge of and willingness to use current best practices in education.
Familiarity with BCcurriculum. A strong teamorientation. Excellent planning and organizationskills. A desire to growprofessionally.
A clear Criminal Record Check, vulnerablesector.
