A dynamic hospitality group is looking to employ an HR / Training Officer to facilitate and organise modules and training sessions throughout the group.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent as minimum requirement
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Hospitality, Training, HR or Education
  • Experience :

  • At least a minimum of 3 years previous work experience in a Training role in the Hospitality Industry
  • Other Skills and Attributes :

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Working experience in training and development in the hospitality industry
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and delivery tools
  • Advanced organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Opera experience advantageous
  • Training

  • Review, filter, compile and update all existing training manual
  • Create relevant tests for each manual and various departments within the organisation
  • Map out training plans, design and develop training programs
  • Market upcoming training to employees and provide necessary information
  • Design and prepare educational aids and materials
  • On the job training is essential
  • Maintain updated database and training records
  • Provide train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
  • Take full responsibility of skills development report by compiling, reviewing and submitting before deadlines
  • Quality Assure the full process of the duties related to the Training Officer
  • Standards, Policies and Procedures

  • Assist in maintaining the compensation standards set by the company
  • Ensure that the Purchase Order Procedure is followed at all times
  • Assist the managers to remain within the budgets of their manplan
  • Ensure that the dress code procedures for all departments is in place and that all employees are neat and tidy.
  • Ensure that fair and equitable discipline is applied.
  • Assist the managers in maintaining their staff files.
  • Ensure leave planners and policies are followed
  • Ensure regular communication on HR Services to operational managers
  • Do regular audits of the VIP database and assist Payroll in maintaining it up to date and correct
  • Assist Payroll with the submission of the Pension Fund Withdrawal Forms when required
  • Statutory

  • Assist managers to comply with the Employment Equity Plan and Skills Development Plan
  • Organise the quarterly Employment Equity Forum Meetings
  • Manage the Employment Equity Forum representations
  • Be the contact for all Injuries on Duties within the group and ensure compliance with the COID Act
  • Follow all COIDA cases from submission to completion and keep full records
  • Human Resources

  • Provide Support to the HR Manager
  • Maintain an open-door policy with all employees to improve employee engagement and employee relations.
  • Participate in HR networks and community programs
  • Develop PR publications on the benefits and opportunities available for staff members
