Job Knowledge

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant B Tech / Bachelor’s degree in any business and management studies with focus on project management / coordinating or equivalent with evidence of a minimum of five (5) years quality assurance facilitation experience in the delivery of short courses as per the KPA’s of the position,
  • OR a Master’s qualification in any business and management studies with evidence of a minimum of two (2) years of quality assurance facilitation experience in the delivery of short courses as per the KPA’s of the position,
  • AND SETA moderator / assessor accreditation with evidence of a minimum of five (5) years of quality assurance facilitation experience in the delivery of short courses registered under QCTO
  • Recommended :

  • Accreditation or certification as a moderator and / or accessor by any of the SETAs and excellent knowledge in special skills development projects for Government Departments, Municipalities, SETAs, and State-Owned Enterprises
  • Knowledge and experience in using of Moodle LMS
  • Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

  • Execute the coordination of all facilitation activities relating to, but not limited to :
  • Ensuring that all QA functions are adhered to in line with CHE, QCTO and SETA requirements
  • Scheduling and conducting internal moderation for accredited and non-accredited courses
  • Preparing all files for external moderation
  • Creating digital and hard copies of all files for internal and external verification
  • Ensuring that all accreditation is valid, current and in place for delivery
  • Assessment Centre applications in line with QCTO
  • Competencies

  • Language proficiency : English and any other official language,
  • Require strong interpersonal skills so he / she can work with colleagues, trainees, and the head of special projects and short course unit (SPSCU) with training needs.
  • Must have management skills to analyse training requirements and make decisions about the best way to deliver training in consultation with the head of SPSCU.
  • Must have the right personal skills to help participants at training to adapt to changes in their companies and make personal decisions to enhance their careers.
  • Must have the ability to design programs that meet clients training needs and be able to schedule training sessions to meet their business needs.
  • Must be able to select the most appropriate training techniques from a mix of classroom sessions, one-on-one coaching, demonstrations, or skills training videos.
  • Must have extensive experience and knowledge of the skills they are teaching.
  • Must have excellent presentation and teaching skills and must be able to communicate complex information clearly to trainees with different levels of skill and knowledge.
  • Must also be capable of demonstrating the skills they are teaching so they gain the confidence of trainees.
  • Must be able to evaluate the performance of trainees before and after sessions so he / she can assess the effectiveness of the training program.
  • Must have empathy with trainees and be able to recognize when he / she needs to adjust the level or type of instruction to ensure training succeeds.
  • To be able to cope under pressure.
