What role will you play?

As the Veterinary Key Account & Distributor Manager, you have the responsibility to develop the business with some of our key customers in South Africa and the Distributors in our export markets.

Please note - The candidates can be based anywhere in South Africa, however should have the flexibility to travel within and outside of South Africa as required.


  • Drive support for Hill's with our key Veterinary clients. Establish positive relationships with key account personnel (Marketing, E-Commerce / Social / Digital, Finance, Supply Chain, CRM) to influence support of Hill's strategic goals.
  • Strong leadership, a clear understanding of their business and foresight is required to engage customers with strategic plans.

  • Prepare, negotiate and implement Joint Business Planning, marketing and promotional campaigns to drive demand. Forecast, develop, implement and supervise customer specific plans to achieve Hill's commercial goals of net sales, share, margin, within budget spend.
  • Communicate plans to field teams for in-store support. Visit practices to better understand implementation challenges to optimize future approaches.

  • Ensure post-evaluation of all promotional campaigns. Share findings, insight and recommendations.
  • Optimize Key Account budget and all resources available
  • Evaluate and understand each customer's strategy applying data and analytics to supervise sales, distribution and campaign performance, trends, insights and opportunities for growth.
  • Facilitate and lead functional commercial organization meetings to align priorities and secure execution of all Hill's initiatives.
  • Lead our Distributors in the export markets. Establish trustful relationships and systems for support and control. Guide them in their efforts to develop the market for Hill’s.
  • Prepare, negotiate and implement Distributor agreements.

  • Prepare the entry into new markets after assessment of the environment, the regulation and potential distributors. Work with the commercial & support team to establish the best route to market and to set-up vital logistics & systems.

  • A Bachelor's degree in veterinary science is required
  • Minimum 2 years of Sales experience in FMCG, Pet Specialty or Pharmaceutical market
  • Experience with working with Distributors outside of South Africa
  • Ability to work with Google tools (sheets, slides, docs, etc)
