GroupM Academy Lead (Learning and Development Manager)
This role is responsible to lead the Groupm GradX Africa Academy, which is responsible for all learning and development for the Academy.
This role will execute its duties in line with the Group Learning and Development strategic agenda.
The main program currently run by the GradX Africa Academy is the GradX program aimed at developing selected graduates into well rounded media practitioners.
The Academy lead will be responsible for to developing new programs in collaboration with Agencies HR and Groupm HR Talent Teams.
This role will also have a critical reporting function to relevant statutory bodies, Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).
The role will also work with other stakeholders to ensure the Accreditation of the GroupM Graduate Academy and the maintenance of the accreditation status with the MICT SETA.
The role will also be responsible for the expansion of the GradX Africa Academy into Sub Sahara Africa and ensuring that the learning material is relevant for all participating markets.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Skills Gap Analysis
Designing & implementing Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) processes.
Designing skills audit tools and conducting skills audits at regular prescribed intervals / as required.
Analysing and prioritizing skills requirements in line with the Group L&D Strategy in collaboration with the businesses.
Developing, implementing, and monitoring implementation GradX Africa Academy Learning & Development programs.
Defining and managing the competency framework and developing plans to enhance competency development across the organisation.
Supporting the Group HR team to formulate the L&D strategy for the Group and implementing it
L&D Planning and Implementation for the GradX Africa Academy
Consulting business to implement effective L&D solutions.
Developing and implementing learning strategies and programs.
Planning training programs based on business goals.
Providing L&D support as part of a cross functional project team.
Controlling the L&D budget.
Compiling monthly L&D report.
Partnering with HR to ensure L&D interventions support talent management and succession planning in a strategic manner.
Suggest new learning methods companywide (e.g., coaching, job-shadowing, online training).
Design and deliver e-learning courses (with specialist support), and other trainings.
Assess the success of the training programs, reporting to the businesses and help Graduates to maximise learning opportunities.
Implement technical and professional courses provided by designated training providers.
Being at the forefront of new L & D systems that are proposed and doing enough research to provide the company with a detailed evaluation reports.
Responsible for the implementation or the eLearning strategy and plan.
Collaborate with the Business to ensure proper implementation of L & D related programs.
Oversee learning activities, curriculum and resources which includes content Design and Content QA.
Implement coaching sessions and mentorship programs to establish a culture of continuous learning for graduates and employees within the program.
Recommend new training methods (including e-learning courses and game-based platforms)
Graduate Academy and Apprenticeships
Work with the HR team to ensure that the Graduate program is accredited by the MICT Seta and it maintains is accreditation status.
Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs to ensure that they are relevant and aligned to business skills and capacity requirements.
Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs to ensure that they are compliant with Skills Development legislation and meet BBBEE requirements.
Train internal subject-matter-experts in techniques and skills for training employees.
Implement and drive train-the-trainer programs.
Ensure that the GroupM Graduate Program courses are digitized : evaluate the optimal solution to transfer existing courses into e-learning modules.
Implement and maintain a Learning Management System for the GradX Africa Academy.
Monitor the learning program, ensure participants are assessed and provide management with progress reports.
Manage development & delivery of program in SSA in collaboration with HR managers from each market.
Ensure appropriate facilitators and assessors are assigned.
Track GradX Graduate performance and absorption into the business.
Implement post program support and training for graduates absorbed into the business, and plan / implement their career development.
BBBEE SKILLS COMPLIANCE SUPPORT & ADMINISTRATION :
Assist with the compilation and submission of statutory reports i.e., SETA ATR & WSP subject to the approval of the HR Heads.
Provide administrative support on the management of interns and graduates to enable the agencies to claim and maximise discretionary and mandatory grants, and track grants reimbursements and allocate back to agencies.
L & D ADMINISTRATION :
Maintain accurate L&D files and records.
Process all documents associated with L&D programs.
Create and maintain all employee L&D files, ensuring compliance of information held in line with the POPIA.
Degree specializing in Learning and Development
Skills Development Facilitator Certification
Qualified assessor and moderator
Familiar with e-learning platforms and practices
Qualification in content design an advantage (refer comment below)
5 10 years' experience as an L&D Specialist or similar role,
Minimum 2 years' experience as an SDF
Proficient in MS Office
Working in a Learning and Development role that is or has transitioned into a Learning Academy an advantage (either within Corporate or Learning Institutions)
Working with SETA is a requirement and experience with MICT SETA would be a definite advantage.
