SUMMARY :

Payroll Administrator

POSITION INFO :

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB :

The main purpose of this position is to ensure the effective and efficient processing of salaries to wage employees of the Company.

RESPONSIBLITIES :

Manage the entire payroll function which include but are not limited to the following :

  • Import of time records of employees to SAGE payroll system to ensure correct paymen of employees on a weekly and monthly basis for 3 different sites
  • Resolves all payroll related queries quickly and effectively
  • Maintain and update personnel records on a regular basis
  • Ensure proper record keeping of all statistical and legislative payments and deductions such as PAYE etc
  • Foster healthy relationships between payroll department and other departments in the Company
  • Monitors electronic timekeeping system
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements related to the payroll
  • Ensure prompt updates of all payroll software for accurate and timeous processing
  • Maintain and update of payroll procedures
  • Submission of payroll reports and sheets for timely processing of wage salaries
  • Keep payroll system updated with latest employee information
  • Ensure payroll balances with 0 discrepancies
  • Compile monthly / statutory reports for Management
  • Keep abreast of all payroll and legislative changes
  • Execute all payroll related administration on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Drive continuous improvement on payroll systems and processes
  • QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Tertiary qualification will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of extensive payroll experience in a medium to large organisation
  • Computer software skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Must have experience on SAGE (People ) payroll
  • Proficiency in the use of a timekeeping system will be an added advantage
  • Understanding of the labour legislation

  • Ability to handle stress in a high pressurized environment
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Must be honest, trustworthy, resilient and patient
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to deal with conflict in a professional manner
  • Willing to work overtime and be available after hours and weekends
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality in the workplace
