Position Description :

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Insurance Department of The Foschini Group’s Financial Services division.

This role is responsible for developing and enhancing a portfolio of retail insurance products by applying industry best practice in product and portfolio management to ensure its continued growth.

The role reports to the Head of Insurance. The successful candidate will have extremely strong strategic, business and leadership skills and will have a strong track record of delivering bottom line growth in the Financial Services, Retail or similar industry.

In this position, key responsibilities will include :

Continuously develop the Insurance product strategies

Identify and quantify opportunities for new product launches and product range expansion - Compilation, management of and responsibility for, full P & L budgets including detailed variance and performance reporting

Strategic financial and marketing planning and implementation

Responsibility and accountability for external partner relationships

Negotiation with relevant internal stakeholders at all levels within the organization with regards to strategies and store campaigns

Conduct regular reviews of the market, customer and competitor offerings

Setting up and monitoring sales, delivery and activation targets

Managing staff related to the portfolio

Maintain close collaboration with Legal and Compliance department to ensure all products and processes comply with the relevant legislation

Full knowledge of and compliance to all relevant legislation (STI, LTI, FAIS, NCA, CPA & POPI)

Experience in building brands within financial services.

As the ideal candidate, you will need :

A Business Degree or similar

Advance certificate in STI or LTI (advantageous)

To have completed the RE5 & 1 Exams for Key Individual (KI) & Representatives (advantageous)

To have met the requirement to be registered as a KI (advantageous)

Ability to effectively apply financial and marketing knowledge to ensure growth of the portfolio

At least 5 years relevant business and marketing experience in a managerial / leadership role

Exceptional communication, negotiation and people skills - Excellent business acumen and strategic skills

Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment and a high attention to detail

High degree of skill with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & PowerPoint

Ability to present at all levels including Managerial and Board level

Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
