Grade 12 or EquivalentRelevant Engineering related qualificationNQF Level 6 / 7 (National Diploma / B Tech) Mechanical Engineering7+ years experience working within the Automotive IndustryTertiary Qualification will be advantageousProduction Management will be advantageousComputer SkillsSAP experience will be advantageous.

Mechanical skillsAuto Electrical SkillsProduction assembly skillsCode 10 / 14 LicenseMust be fully conversant in English both verbal & written on all levelsSupervises : Off-Line : Assembly Fitters / Motor Mechanics / Auto Electricians / QA Inspectors, Dispatches of VehiclesWorks with : QA, Production, Logistics & Maintenance TeamsTo ensure the streamlining of the inspection of incoming-kits, Production roll-out, monitoring of off-line process, painting, invoicing and dispatch of units.

Co-ordinate with support agencies as and when requiredMeet daily & monthly production targets (Clip Score)Monthly Production Planning.

Monthly Material reconciliation for SAP Closing.Oversee timeous dispatches of Vehicles to the customer.Deploy & allocate manpower at disposal to achieve targets effectivelyMeet productivity improvement targets for chassis lineTrain new & old employee in systems & processes (process sheets, off-line process) etc.

Liaise with regulatory bodies for Homologation and Certifications.Deploy and maintain proper housekeeping (5S) standards.

Collecting inputs from morning meetings in the green area and give management feedback as well as updating reports.Monthly stock inventory & verification.

Minimise rejections on the production line and ensure proper recording of side track units on weekly basis.

Track defect creation, analyse & deploy corrective measures to prevent defects leaving the plant.Control the issuing of parts as per master shortage list.

Absentee relief for operations team and QA Inspectors On-Line and Off-Line.Facilitate multi skilling of all workmen.

Track and improve attendance and morale of workmen.Monitoring and checking of dispatched units and Chassis card sign-off.

Maintain daily DPU defect list and tracking of invoiced units.Follow-up on Customer complaints and support corrective and preventative measures.

Deploy ISO9001 Quality Control systemsDeploy world class quality (WCQ) related systems & processesAnalyse and suggest process changes to help improve and sustain improved quality levelsConduct safety training and give feedback on all direct reports.

Take closure actions on any pending safety observations.Promote pro-active nature among workforce on issues of SHE.Ensure all statutory compliances related to SHE in area of responsibility are being followed.

Undertake other reasonable duties, in line with business needs and objectives, which are consistent and commensurate with the overall purpose of the position.
