Primary Purpose(s) of Position :
Supervises the work of warehouse personnel, general receiving, binning, storage, stacking, picking, packing of finished products and packaging of materials, assembly duties and inventory management.
Ensures that FM warehouse procedures are followed in executing all the functions above and that all stock movements are correctly controlled and recorded.
Ensures good housekeeping and security within the warehouse. Ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures and policies are
observed at all times. Ensures warehouse equipment is maintained as per Policy. Manage costs that are within his / her control, and ensures that warehouse resources are sufficient for the operation at all times.
Develops and maintains warehouse reports.
Responsibilities : Operational Requirements
Ensures that receiving function is managed according to FM policies and agreed procedures
Pre-receiving documentation is received in time
Stock received has been quality checked
Binning takes place within 24 hours of receipt
Vendor Score cards is completed per shipment
Row counting is completed
Bin consolidation and is continuously practiced
Ensures that Dispatch functions are managed according to FM policies and agreed procedures.
Daily picks are released per delivery day requirements
Picking rates meet agreed standards / targets
Checking is 100% accurate
All daily orders are completed accordingly
Ensures that deliveries have been received by the customers On Time and in Full, with POD daily monitored
Ensures that weekly / monthly and annual objectives and targets are met
Daily / weekly / monthly reports completed and published accordingly
Ensures that he / she understands the DC budget in details and can account for every budget line.
Reviews & analyse daily / weekly / monthly and yearly expenditure to ensure that all are in line with the budget. All variances can be accounted for.
Objectives and targets are communicated clearly to all members of his / her team
Ensures that every employee in his / her team fully comprehends annual goals and objectives as well as daily
weekly / monthly targets.
Ensures that every employee has a development plan or at least has been given an opportunity to engage in
Ensures that employee leave is planned in advance to ensure business continuity, and that employees take
sufficient leave each year.
Manage employee relations including discipline and attendance.
Resource and Equipment Management
Ensures that required resources are planned and procured accordingly for the day to day
running of the business.
Packaging Material (Boxes, Lids, Tapes, Pallets, Strapping, Stationery etc
Vehicles, Forklifts, Reach trucks, Trolleys, Pickers Protective clothing, etc
Equipment (Machinery) is maintained as per manufactures specification or F-M standard.
Vehicles are serviced as per manufactures specification.
Equipment utilization is managed as per agreed targets, no abuse is tolerated.
Ensures that all relative SHEQ principles, policies and procedures are understood by all team members
and adhered to at all time.
Warehouse floors are clean at all times.
Warehouse cleaning staff is managed.
Stacking is neat and no loose items.
Dust is cleaned continuously
The Yard is clean, no loose items
Battery Bay is clean at all times
Maintain a Injury Incident Rate of zero
PPE is worn at all times
All warehouse signs are visible in all areas
All containers with Acid Battery water are labeled
The environment is safe, free of all unsafe objects
Quality check completed for all receipts, including returns from Customers
Maintain daily / weekly / monthly reports
Assist with EXCO & EMEA monthly reports
Update & Post Daily / Weekly / Monthly Operations reports
You undertake to obey, comply and carry out all lawful and reasonable duties and instructions,
as from time to time assigned to you by your supervisor.
Job Requirements & Qualifications & Skills :
3+ year Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain
Expert knowledge of SAP, SAP BW, SAP WMS
Supply Chain knowledge
In-depth business knowledge
Judgment / decision-making skills
Organisation / planning skills
