This person will be responsible for launching new products and business lines in South Africa and other African markets.
While the role will have responsibility for the success of the South African market, it will draw on functional leaders in Mexico and in San Francisco, the Company ''s global headquarters.
Successful candidates will be able to balance rolling up their sleeves to dig into the details and stepping back to focus on the major strategic opportunities.
6+ years in consumer lending management in South Africa (preferred) or other African markets at a significant scale (e.g.
over 50k users a month or $10m USD month).
Willingness to roll up sleeves and collaboratively solve difficult and complex challenges across a variety of functions.
Demonstrated success in a startup environment or Fintech with point of sale BD experience
Track record of recruiting, motivating, and developing a team of senior and junior resources in finance.
5+ years experience in South Africa top tier international companies (preferred).
Aggressively build and grow the business by working closely with functional leads across Business Development, Operations, HR, Risk, Data Science, Product, and Engineering.
Develop key distribution partnerships with small, medium, and large channels including retailers, carriers, and distributors.
Evaluate, pilot, and scale new business opportunities.
Build up structure, internal processes, and technologies to support the growth of the business by working closely with Product and Engineering teams.
Cultivate a high performing team and recruit strong candidates.
