Global IT Project Manager

The Team

The Global IT Projects Team is responsible for the implementation of global projects from inception to post implementation review across Norton Rose Fulbright, in accordance with the firm’s One Firm IT Strategy.

This is a global role and is expected to work closely with all areas of IT and the business to make sure that IT changes are aligned to business demands.

The Role

This role reports to the Global IT Senior Project Manager and is responsible for the successful implementation of projects that form part of the firm’s One Firm IT Program.

As a Project Manager within the Global IT Projects Team you will be responsible for the delivery of individual global IT projects, ensuring that all work is managed in accordance with the Global PMO's IT Delivery Framework.

On a day to day basis, you will lead a team of technology and other specialists and engage with the wider stakeholder community to ensure that project delivery meets agreed requirements.

Responsible for :

  • On a day to day basis, proactively manage projects and ensure that the appropriate level of governance is maintained via the Global PMO
  • Help identify and manage suppliers required to meet project deliverables. Experience orchestrating RFI / RFPs is desirable but not essential
  • Where necessary, lead a technical team to produce designs and appropriate documentation, managing the Technical Design Authority review process and ensuring that delivery aligns to the designs and standards agreed
  • Compile and present business cases for board level review
  • Manage project budget and report on project status to project boards as required
  • Manage business & project risks and dependencies in a complex environment including the development of contingency plans
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships and develop communication plans
  • Work closely with the Service Management Team to ensure a controlled and supportable transition to business as usual
  • Skills and Experience Required :

  • A recognized project management qualification (e.g. PMI, PMP, APM or Prince2)
  • A good degree from a recognized educational institution
  • A business analysis qualification is desirable but not essential (e.g. BCS (UK) or PMI (US) Certificate or Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent)
  • Experience working for a global law firm or other type of federated business
  • At least five years’ experience managing projects, preferably at a global level, with an extensive portfolio of projects successfully implemented during that period
  • Strong team player
  • Understanding of project management methodologies, architectural frameworks and key ITIL disciplines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both orally and written
  • Self-starting with experience in leading, managing and motivating teams
  • Ability to work under pressure, be responsive and prioritise work
