Manager Quality Management

This role ensures that the activities carried out by PEI&T in South Africa are compliant to all quality ISO 9001 requirements , associated policies and local regulations.
Scope includes Tier 1 - 5 capital projects and PEI&T Improvement services. To lead and manage the PEI&T Quality management team (comprising of QA resources) to ensure that a sustainable Quality Management system is implemented, documented information is managed / relevant / available, Quality master data is maintained to standard, products and services of consistent quality are available to internal customers by the co-ordinated management of the total quality management (TQM) processes from project planning to beneficial operation and hand-over to internal customers.
To ensure that the ISO 9001 system can sustainably provide data and information on project execution and compliance to quality requirements / standards / specifications, service compliance, quality loss accounting, quality objectives, internal / vendor / customer non-conformance management and implementation of changes in customer / legislative requirements.
Provide meaningful interpretation on internal and external Quality problems and positively influence changes and optimisation in PEI&T execution.
Responsible to ensure that all Quality non-conformances and incidents are adequately captured, investigated and resolved for effective feedback to internal and external stakeholders and for management review.
Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications, assessing customer requirements, quality agreements and ensuring that these are met.
Directing objectives to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
B degree in Quality Management or Chemistry (equivalent)

10 years experience in Quality Assurance systems
6 years experience in personnel management
Experience in implementing Quality management system from zero base to certification
Proven ISO9001 implementation (from zero base) experience (required)
Implementation of ISO9001 in a non-production environment (i.e. application of principles outside of the operational framework) (strong wish)
Successful track record in obtaining certification and maintaining certification (requirement)
An understanding of the technology environment within which the business operates.
PEI&T exposure and networks (wish)
Ability to work in and lead cross functional teams as well as to work independently.
Technical management background is preferable.
Ability to deliver effectively in the fields of Quality Assurance (primary) and Control (secondary)
To Implement and maintain ISO 9001 certification for PEI&T by ensuring that all Quality Assurance, Project Execution and PEI&T Improvement functionalities are trained, have implemented ISO related processes, and are adequately prepared for audits when / where necessary.
Enable and maintain oversight on document governance for all of PEI&T as well as sub-functional areas.
Key interface of all internal and external stakeholders regarding quality matters. To provide QA and QC support to ongoing PEI&T projects / initiatives / activities and Energy PEI&T.
Responsible to develop training for PEI&T stakeholders to build quality awareness. To provide direction for use of appropriate software systems for capturing and workflow notifications related to all deviation types and incidents.
Leadership in maintaining audit findings for PEI&T on deviation management system. Maintain the master data quality documents and quality audits.
Support team to enable maintenance of SAP master data product parameters if applicable.
To retrieve, analyse, and report all internal and external Quality non-conformances (including customer complaints and incidents) monthly, quarterly, annually at business meetings and at Management Review Meetings for PEI&T.
Support the management and reporting of internal non-conformances. Support and provide guidance for the quality aspect for defective materials within control of PEI&T.
To do the assessment and reporting to Top Management of trends in quality and related data and tracking cost of non-conformances.
Reporting and monthly forum meetings with PEI&T and sub-functional areas as appropriate. Trends and effect analysis presented to support contracting decisions - supporting Supply Chain.
Accountable (with the support of VP) for the local (individual team) Quality strategy which focuses on operational and customer needs.
Translation of the strategy into objectives linked to initiatives and outputs. Manage initiatives to ensure strategic goals and objectives are clear and understood.
Implement, maintain and monitor Quality KPI's with PEI&T as per ISO 9001 and business model and requirements.
Management of, and participation in internal and external audits. Perform compliance audits of all local PEI&T internal systems and processes related to quality.
Support 2nd party audits performed by Group Risk and Assurance. Accountable for 3rd party certification audits in all PEI&T areas and support verification audits from customers / other stakeholders.
Assurance audits on key vendors (ad-hoc / when required). Oversee implementation and sustainability of corrective action.
Provide ISO related guidelines with regards to a standardized method for updating, controlling and managing both process and system documents within the PEI&T environment.
Maintain all Quality related master data and oversee master data maintenance on key engineering / raw material / packaging materials.
Implement and manage the quality risk activities per area in PEI&T using the Governance Risk framework.
Provide governance and guidelines, infrastructure and verification of record management requirements as per the ISO 9001 standard.
Ensure compliance on all mandatory requirements and availability and security of records.
Enable planning and monitoring of calibrations (where applicable), preservation of materials, preservation and management of customer / vendor / service provider property.
To direct, motivate and develop subordinates. Participate in personnel measures in co-ordination with Human Resources. Ensure efficient structuring of organisation in area of responsibility.
To ensure governance and adherence to policies and laws in all actions. To constantly monitor KPI’s processes and to initiate corrective measures and actions in case of deviations.
To regularly review, recognize, manage and enable performance (individual and team) through the performance management system and informal mechanisms.
