Check that all required documentation (insurances, bonds, etc.) are provided before work commences on site. Co-ordination of all contracts : Programming, interface problems, progressing, etc.

Analyse on regular basis final forecast cost and produce budget statements, cash flows, VO summaries. Produce and send project reports to in standard format.

Inform Construction Manager as to when further details will be required and identify design queries. Check the progress monitoring carried out by the Site Assistant(s) including interim completion dates.

Advise Construction Manager of any or potential claim situations ( Ensure all facts / data are recorded make recommendations to Construction Manager ) ( Must be familiar with GCC, SABS 1200 and FIDIC Red & Yellow Books ) Chair project site meetings.

Liaise with depot staff, municipality, Construction Manager identify and attend to potential problems. Manage Site Assistant(s).

Regularly audit site instruction books, site diaries, testing procedures, etc. Propose extra work rates to the Construction Manager.

Agree variations to a limit set by the Construction Manager and prepare all VO’s for formal issue by the Construction Manager.

Agree progress quantities with Construction Manager. Prepare draft payment certificates for formal issue by the Construction Manager.

Regularly vet dayworks and authorise items above limit of Site Assistant(s). Inspect works on regular basis with respective Site Assistant.

Agree final snag lists. Manage commissioning. Counter sign acceptance certificates for sections of work tested and commissioned.

Agree final quantities during the contract and on completion. Technical tertiary qualification Professionally registered 10 -

15 years’ experience PRIOR LEARNING / SPECIAL SKILLS : Construction supervision Technically skilled Leadership skills COMPUTER LITERACY : MS Word MS Excel MS Project PERSONALITY PROFILE : Ability to get on with other people and have sufficient authority to manage staff and encourage good performance.

Technical tertiary qualification Professionally registered 10 - 15 years’ experience PRIOR LEARNING / SPECIAL SKILLS : Construction supervision Technically skilled Leadership skills COMPUTER LITERACY : MS Word MS Excel MS Project PERSONALITY PROFILE : Ability to get on with other people and have sufficient authority to manage staff and encourage good performance.
