IQVIA is looking for a Stroke Care / BI Angels Consultant and be based in Gauteng .

The successful candidate will look after G auteng South; Johannesburg, and Northwest .

JOB DESCRIPTION PURPOSE

  • To Improve extra and intra-hospital pathways within a designated therapeutic area providing consultancy services, including patient pathway analysis and optimization and training for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • To coordinate educational activities for health care professionals and their staff on the proper use of designated treatments, procedures, guidelines for assigned disease area
  • To establish advance relationships with opinion leaders to ensure implementation of the project in the field trough a multi-stakeholder approach.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Target and promote customer's specialized services in secondary care (e.g. hospital) arenas.
  • Within a specified geographical territory, identify target customers and produce an annual territory plan.
  • Implement program process within potential sites.
  • Understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Communicate the aims, objectives and business plan of the program to all relevant health services.
  • Achieve targets in assigned territory in order to reinforce the disease treatment among identified target audiences (e.
  • g. physicians, nurses and key hospital staff).

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the disease treatment and guidelines, clinical efficacy and clearly state the value-proposition offered, based on sound knowledge of specialty area or therapeutic discipline.
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends and or issues within specialist or technical area of expertise, by attending conferences, reading key journals, etc.
  • and begin to promote self, as a knowledgeable specialist, to internal and external audiences.

  • Complete relevant training courses.
  • Ensure consistent and satisfactory levels of customer service to doctors in hospitals or other clinical / healthcare delivery institutions through regular visits and events.
  • Effectively utilize the designated software system(s) to maintain records update, report daily calls, and produce reports.
  • Deliver reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Comply with relevant country legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise Line Manager of changes in competitor activities and market changes and liaise with Line Manager to identify potential new opportunities.
  • Ensure the reporting of any identified Adverse Events in line with prevailing process and guidelines.
  • Project a professional impression of the Company and act in accordance with the relevant stakeholders
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good understanding of Pharma Market and related procedures.
  • Build network of relationships with health representatives in the requested specialty segment.

  • Solid therapeutic area (i.e. guidelines, best practice) knowledge.
  • Fluency in software operating systems, such as MS Office and customer relationship management systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with decision makers / opinion leaders in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Ability to conduct face to face presentations to customers.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage own workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Provide lead on internal cross project working.
  • Ability to own a project and see through to fruition
  • Experience engaging and motivating others to deliver on a joint initiative
  • Execute a business plan designed to meet shared business objectives.
  • MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree with 3 years' relevant experience in a Pharmaceutical, Clinical Research or Healthcare Company; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    Master's degree with PhD preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time
  • Frequent domestic travel
  • Full driving license
