INTRODUCTION

Manage and influence the Direct Import critical path of the product group to ensure on time delivery. Lead and manage imports merchandisers to ensure on time delivery requirements of the Group.

Build strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.

Technical Skills :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (in Clothing Retail / Manufacturing)
  • 3 to 5 years buying or sourcing (local and international) experience in a retail
  • Production Experience required
  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Negotiation skills
  • Order / contract management
  • Understanding of Imports and Supply Chain Logistics
  • Computer literate : advanced Excel Skills and ability to operate in a Windows based environment

  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Support the QIS manager with the relevant reporting and tracking tools.
  • Provide input to group and seasonal supplier strategy to target growth potential, consolidation opportunities and decline management.
  • Assist with new supplier costing.
  • Assist with on-boarding of new suppliers.
  • Provide input to post seasonal analysis in terms of supplier performance against supplier matrix, accuracy of lead time calendar by product group for imports and local and adherence to agreed supplier volume projections.
  • Manage and influence the Direct Import orders critical paths.
  • Identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions timeously to relevant stakeholders.
  • Raise purchase orders and track the required critical paths.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure required order documentation is received timeously.
  • Manage the packing list approval and technical release of orders.
  • Give input to supplier KPI process within the groups and departments.
  • Develop and build sustainable relationships with suppliers.
  • Educate and motivate compliance of suppliers wrt Woolworths' supplier standard operation procedures.
  • Adhere lead-time calendar per product group and identify improved speed to market opportunities.
  • Work closely with supply chain to meet agreed cost savings deliverables and ensure clear integration with international logistics strategy.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders (e.g. QIS, International Supply Chain, Buying Groups, Design) to deliver to the product group strategies.
  • Develop, motivate, inspire and lead the team to achieve and deliver the product group strategy and plans that will ensure high performance
