As a Copywriter at Hyperion you must have a proven track record of producing high quality copy for blog posts, user interfaces, landing pages, digital advertising, print media and other acquisition channels at scale.

You will ensure our Growth team has all the copy required for designing, building, and maintaining all the pieces of our and SEO products aimed at engaging, educating, and solving problems for potential Hyperion customers.

This includes boot camp comparison pages, our free trials, our , the ...and lots more.

These pages are read by hundreds of thousands of people and stand as great opportunity for your growth. As a sharp copywriter, you will be able to get your words in front of hundreds of thousands -

if not millions of people, all over the world.

One of the first initiatives you’ll work on when joining Hyperion is a re-positioning of our brand and re-launch of our brand across 34 markets.

Your words will define this re-brand. You will ensure the Product and Marketing teams have the elements they need to solve the complexities of scaling a EdTech startup from Cape Town, and help achieve a novel business model.

You should be excited about not just working really hard in a small but rapidly growing startup, but building it with your own direct ownership in the business.

You must be ambitious and want to make a mark on this world greater than anything you have done to date.

Essential abilities

  • You’re a sharp, conversion-focused copywriter, with at least 1 year of experience of writing for tech / challenger brands, consumer tech, or education industries.
  • You deliver clear, straight-forward copy and your portfolio shows how the words you’ve written in your career to date have made a positive impact.
  • You have a strong interest in SEO and are keen to learn about acquisition and search.
  • You have experience in both digital and big picture items, such as rebrand, you know what a CTA is and how to craft a killer one.
  • You’re always learning and understand the power of words. You may not know what CRO and A / B tests are, but you’re going to read up on them right after reading this.
  • You’re comfortable drawing on sources like Google Analytics and Intercom to inform your decisions.
  • Essential role experience

  • 1 -3 years experience in a similar role is key. We’re looking for people who not only know what they’re talking about, but also those that can hit the ground running.
  • A marketing qualification (degree or diploma), or similar industry experience.
  • Learn and figure it out - you already know learning is ongoing in this role.
  • Blue-sky thinking, ideation tied strongly to strategy and analytics.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • A strong portfolio of work.
  • Be able to work in South Africa or the UK
  • Good to have

  • Experience with SEO strategy, including backlinks and tools such as SEMRush.
  • Experience working through the creative process from brief to execution. This will include assessing timings, key strategic and creative deliverables, ensuring high-
  • quality, error-free work for all digital and print production.
