Job Description

In Sub-Saharan Africa, SNC-Lavalin has a proven track record of delivering projects across all four of our sectors of operation including oil and gas, mining and metallurgy, infrastructure and power.

We have been present in Africa since the 1970s when the company was awarded the Mefta cement plant in Algeria. Since then, we have designed and built a series of outstanding projects across the continent that directly contribute to quality of life.

Over the last four decades we have served blue-chip clients, primarily in the petrochemical, power and mining and metals sectors on over 300 diverse projects executed in South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Mozambique, Zambia, Madagascar, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Sudan.

EDUCATION & SKILLS :

  • Minimum of a completed degree / diploma in Human Resources
  • Minimum of 2 years as an HR practitioner
  • At least 2 years within the construction.
  • Experience working within Power Projects (Medupi / Kusile) will be an added advantage
  • Must be computer literate (MS Office Suite)

  • RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Liaise with project and operations to review, coordinate and oversee upcoming / planned manpower requirements
  • Support the HR / IR Manager by being an advisory on local HR legislation and corporate HR policies & procedures
  • Assist the Project HR / IR Manager with Industrial Relations issues.
  • Attend IR meetings when required.
  • Assist Site Human Resources personnel with Labour Relations issues
  • Ensure Company Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures are properly followed by Line Management only after consultation with the HR / IR Manager on site
  • Ensure compliance with PA / SSA on Medupi Power Projects
  • Assist and advice Site Agent that all take on forms are properly completed copies to be sent to the Human Resources Department / Payroll Department and HR Clerk on site.
  • Co-ordinate activities that all new employees / labour broker personnel are inducted properly into the Company / Division.
  • Liaise with the HR Clerk on Workday administration documentation and ensure that data is completed and updated.
