IT Application Support Specialist - Crown Mine, Jhb Introduction Key Result Areas : • Investigate, analyse, resolve and advise on support issues in a business application support environment.
bull; Provide end user application support and guidance on software applications, and systems (Pastel, AX 2012, Omnix, Sage People and Payroll) •
Testing of new applications or upgrades in conjunction with External service providers and IT Management • Conduct system monitoring and maintenance of system logs and errors •
Liaise with vendors to ensure problem resolution on various applications • Work with IT team to investigate complex issues, identify and implement solutions •
Work in partnership with other departments ensuring correct exchange of knowledge and successful transition of developments into production •
Maintain appropriate levels of technical and procedural documentation • Adhere to appropriate departmental procedures and practices (such as auditing requirements, control procedures and incident management procedures) •
Communicate with end users and other support teams to notify of system incidents and resolution thereof? Facilitate system audit processes •
Training and skills transfer Minimum Skills / Requirements : • 3 Years tertiary qualification or a relevant IT qualification.
bull; Minimum 2 years support analyst or application support experience. • Basic knowledge of the disciplines in an application support environment, incident handling, change management, problem management etc.
bull; Problem solving exposure at application and business transaction level using application log files and SQL database queries.
bull; Commitment to performing routine as well as investigation / analysis work tasks. Ability to solve medium complexity problems.
bull; Understand and develop the support team technical competency. • Wholesale and Retail experience beneficial •
Understanding of SQL Server and SQL scripting • Microsoft dynamics or Navision experience beneficial • Experience of Windows platforms •
Understanding of web technology and Application Programming Interfaces (API) • Excellent communication skills English both written and verbal •
Self-motivated, proactive, taking ownership of problems until they are resolved. • Mature person with the sense of responsibility to assist after hours when and if required •
