Business Head / General Management (Retail Roofing / building chainstore group) Durban - R1.3M PER ANNUM CTC - Start January 2022 - African male or female only.

Roofing Company with more than thirty stores in various regions of South Africa, Seeks a Business Head / General Management to direct, manage and control the Companys business in all aspects by providing appropriate leadership and promoting good relations with all stakeholders in support of the overall business strategy, plans and objectives of the Company.

You will need to come out of large retail sector as you will be heading a 100 retail stores by 2023. You will direct and control the work and resources of the Company and ensure the on-going recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives.

Prepare a corporate plan and annual business plan and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the Company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.

Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Board and senior managers, to keep them aware of developments within the industry, and to ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the Companys mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.

Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the Company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.

Direct and maintain research and development programmes to ensure that the Company remains at the forefront of its sector, applies the most cost-effective methods and approaches, and provides the required range and quality of products and services.

Prepare, gain acceptance, and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met, that revenue flows are maximized and that fixed costs are minimized.

Direct and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the Company in the wider community.

Represent the Company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms for the Company.

Direct and maintain total quality management systems throughout the Company to ensure that the best possible products and services are provided to customers and / or clients.

Direct the implementation of equal opportunity policies in all aspects of the Company.

Oversee the preparation of the annual report and accounts of the Company and ensure their approval. Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the Company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations.

Responsibility for preparing the Quarterly Review packs and presentation. Attendance at the Quarterly meetings with the Group Management Team as scheduled.

Responsibility for preparing the Board Meeting packs and presentation. Attendance at the Board meetings as scheduled. Responsibility and reporting on a monthly / quarterly basis to the Group Risk and Compliance Officers.

Related Post Graduate Qualification / MBA. At least 10 years senior-level experience of management of people and resources of which 3-5 years in a senior Management role.

A proven record of success at a senior-level in the retail industry. You will need a working knowledge of MS Office a ERP system experience, be willing to travel and work long hours.
