Position Title : Operations Manager Based at : Durban North Reporting to : COO Overview : The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction, business improvement as well as provide support in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Marketing, Training and Development, Human Resources and Operational strategies that assist the organization in achieving its vision, mission and goals.
Involved in operations and project management of core business projects that drive growth and revenue. To provide commercial support to fellow Commercial Managers with a focus on global expansion into new territories.
Preferred Requirements : Relevant Degree or Diploma 5 10 Years’ experience in a similar marketing / commercial or operational role Valid driver’s licence with own vehicle Responsibilities : Strategic Planning and Implementation Assist in the development and preparation of the organisation’s commercial process strategy and general business planning Provide overall leadership and direction in the development of marketing and brand business strategies, training and development strategies as well as human resources strategies Collaborate with relevant Management on reporting, productivity and innovation Manage the implementation of major projects / systems / technological advances in line with customer needs and sound project management principals Provide insight on best practices and solutions to identified areas of improvement Manage inter-departmental dependencies Process analysis and streamlining of processes to improve efficiencies, collaboration and engagement across departments / businesses Continuous implementation of improvement and business development strategies Process engineering continuous review and enhancement on business processes Ensure the brand and marketing guidelines are adhered to across all platforms Ensure strategic marketing plans are created and delivered for all territories People Leading relevant managers, providing operational support and driving delivery of strategies Review of performance and implementation of performance appraisals Resource management of a diverse team, responsible for setting direction and conducting the day to day people management functions of the team Conduct training needs analysis to highlight training gaps and strategies to rectify these Identify developmental areas, and coaching / mentoring management team to build on identified areas of improvement Performance management of staff and disciplinary processes Interact and cooperate with all members of the organization, its suppliers and customers, thereby establishing and maintaining beneficial relationships with all stakeholders Business Development Conduct SWOT analysis and identify opportunities for creating / maintaining a competitive edge Identify opportunities for potential new business ventures Review and implement new business ventures Internal and external relationship management Review promotional and campaign reports and identify areas of improvement Reporting Understand key performance metrics to provide in-depth market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, customer trends and translate these into actionable insights for team and the business.
